Reliable replacement for my old and worn-out power cord

I have been using the StarTech.com 6ft (1.8m) Computer Power Cord for a year now and it has been a reliable replacement for my old and worn-out power cord. The 18AWG wire is durable and thick, making it resistant to kinks and twists, which is essential for me since I move my computer around quite often. The NEMA 5-15P to C13 connection is compatible with most computer power supplies and monitors, and it snugly fits into the socket without any risk of coming loose. Great Replacement

Great replacement for my Aiwa Exos 9, needed a longer cord to be able to reach the top of our bookshelf and this does the trick! Nice product and a great price.

Needed a longer cord for laptop.

I go to some places where I have to plug in the laptop and use an extension cord and I found this and they are a much neater solution in one cord. Work fine.

Good Cables for my HP Monitors.

I needed longer cables for my HP monitors. I have them mounted on dual arm monitor stands. Reaching power to a UPS was an issue. These cables helped alleviate the stress of the power cables and now I have a little bit of extra slack. I'm very happy with these power cables.

Great price for general usage too

While this type of cable is commonly used with PC power supplies, cutting off the C13 connector makes this a great supply cable for an AC to DC transformer, as the wires inside are color coded correctly (green, neutral, hot). It's an 18/3 wire (18 gauge, 3 strands in one) which makes it quite decent. It's a stranded cable so soldering is going to be relatively easy. To be used for its intended purpose as PC - I actually reused the C13 connector and made sure I left a couple of ft of wire and bought a replacement wall connector from home depot and it's working just fine. I don't foresee it being an issue with anyone, and the shielding is a good thickness (which made it quite a challenge to wire strip!). Overall, the pricing is competitive with the alternatives, and it's great for DIY usage. The only concern would be if you have a 1500-wattage computer, then perhaps go to a 16 gauge or thicker cable (the smaller the gauge, the thicker the wire, which allows more power to run through cleanly).

It's a Power Cord

It's a power cord identical to all the other power cords for computer power supplies, flat screen TV sets and so on. It fits properly into the socket and works as it should. There's nothing more to say! The one I bought is 18 AWG, so only good for up to 10-amperes. They sell a 14 AWG version if you need more capacity.

Read other reviews, its super good but I mean how are you to tell. It feels luxury and well built to last so that's a good thing but other than that, it's a bit short like others say If you're thinking about buying this for your gaming pc and worried it won't perform well like i was it's really the same just make sure it's not bent and curved. Overall 9.5/10

Nice and flexible

I bought this for a non-PC usage to power a semi-portable device. Often, PC power cables have a ton of insulation and are way too chunky for what they do. This cord is nice - it's very soft and pliable and can easily to coiled into a small bundle without having to battle the cord thickness. Both connectors seem like standard quality. It's simple and it works.
