Ok, requires practice

I liked the instructional video, but once I got into the actual workout videos, I was lost. The instructors don’t call out the next moves very well, so I felt like I was flailing around a lot the first time I used it. The instruction video doesn’t 100% match up w the actual workout moves. I’ve taken a lot of dance/aerobics classes and I know a good instructor when I see one: they know how to explain the next move so you can easily follow, but I didn’t get that from this video. Yes, you can turn on the audio guide, but it’s not quite the same as a good instructor who can explain the moves before they do them and thus, you’re not flailing around as you try to keep up. Overall, I’ll continue to try these videos because it seems like it will be a fun workout once I get the moves down. As with anything, it just requires practice and perseverance, so I’ll keep using this as a good cardio workout in between strength training sessions. In summary, it’s a decent cardio workout that I think I’ll master with more practice and time.

Review of step portion only

I just got this pack and I've only tried the step workout, but I thought I would leave a review to answer some of the questions I had before I got it. The main question I had was whether I could use my standard step and the answer is yes, but with some modifications. If I didn't already have a step, I'd buy the rizer, but I don't need another thing taking up room in my house. The rizer is lower and about half the length of a standard step. In terms of the workout itself, I thought it was fun and energizing. The music is high quality. The moves are not overly complicated, but it wasn't the sort of workout you get just right on the first try. For context, I'm an experienced stepper but I am returning to serious fitness after an extended hiatus. So I'd rate my cardio and strength at the low end of intermediate right now and my coordination as somewhat higher. I modified some moves for my current fitness level and because of the size difference in the step. The production style is a little unusual. You get to choose English or Spanish and then the instructions are in a voiceover. That's not a big deal, though. I could see the movements and the people's feet well enough. Some of the dancier nuances were probably lost on me this time around, but it's a good workout anyway. It leaves plenty of room for me to keep improving at it.

Received an open item

The shrink wrap is already open, the green disc does not come with an album jacket, just a generic white CD envelop. One disc looks scratched. I am going to play them and check, but most likely I will return them. Edit: I returned this one and ordered a replacement. The package was sealed but the DVDs inside look the same as the one I returned. So I guess they ran out of the original packaging material. So, don't expect to get 4 separate DVD jackets as shown in the product photos. There are 2 DVDs in one jacket, 1 DVD in the original jacket, 1 DVD (green) in a generic white sleeve envelop. That said, I played the DVDs and really enjoyed the exercises. So I am updating my rating.

Happily Surprised at This Workout Pack

You really get a lot in this pack. I was kind of impressed. I wasn't sure what I would get. I've never done Zumba or any dance workout, but thought it might be a fun way to workout. I am just starting to try to work out after a long time of not working out. I just basically looked through the list of workout DVDs on Amazon and picked one, hoping it would end up being something halfway decent. It actually really looks good. I just received this today and sat and watched some of the videos tonight. There are multiple workouts, some using a step and some not. There is an ab workout and a live dance workout that has a big group of people. There are a couple of other workouts that have instructors with a few people in a studio. I did a little of the ab workout and loved it. I'm excited to get started with this. I did order a rectangular step to use with this, but saw in the videos that the instructors use a round step for these classes. I don't know if it makes any difference whether the step is round or rectangular, but just FYI if you are going to order one. I'm going to give it a go with the step I ordered. (You don't need a step for all the workouts. I know there is at least one that uses the step, but I can't remember if there is more than one. There are some workouts in the DVD pack without a step.) You also get what looks to be a pretty good little recipe booklet along with the DVDs. I will say that the workouts look pretty challenging, but that's ok by me. I won't be able to do them all in the beginning, but I didn't want to get something so easy that I would be bored with it in a week. I will probably have to start out with a few minutes a day and work up to a longer period of time doing the workouts. But I'm really pretty excited that this turned out to be a good purchase.

Great pack of DVDs

This is great beginner set of DVDs with instructional videos and a range of workouts from easy to hard. Liked the Ab workout. I feel like the recipes are not necessarily easy and fast if that is a concern, although many look tasty. The guide also comes with a suggested workout schedule which is helpful. Needing a step for the step workout does make it a bit less accessible for some; however, you could do it without the step.

I love the step workout! It was my favorite that used to be on prime. Still wish I could get the other ones too...although this one was by far the best! Enjoyed most of the other workouts also!

Best if you speak Spanish

One DVD was a "step" DVD. What good is that if you don't own a step and aren't even prompted to order one? Another only had cues in English for the final "abs" portion. The main cardio portion would be best enjoyed by people who understand Spanish. Don't get me wrong. I'm fine with Spanish-only for Spanish-speakers, but it would have been helpful to have been told before I, who don't understand Spanish, spent money for the DVD.

Belle façon de se mettre en forme !

J'avoue que j'étais sceptique du produit, mais une fois que je l'ai testé, je peux vous dire qu'il vaut amplement le mimi-prix ! Quelle meilleure façon de se mettre en forme que dancer ? Ce kit offre un menu avec des recettes faciles, ainsi que 4 DVD avec niveaux qui convient à tous et contenant des exercices diversifiés. Pas besoin de savoir danser, ou avoir un niveau avancé, simplement avoir envie de se défouler et être prêt a suer en masse ! ????

Value for money

I bought this because I wanted to try zumba and not spend too much money. This came with 3 CDs one of which helps you learn the moves slowly. It also came with a little recipe book and I have to say I love the recipe ideas, many vegan or vegetarian and few calories. I have lost 3 lbs this week following the recipes! As for the zumba, I think I am too old and too slow - but it was fun to try!

Absolutely great! This set has multiple DVDs and even step by step instructions as well. Great for all levels! Even us seniors call learn this at our own pace. So so much fun! Thanks

duplicated workouts from another set

I LOVE Zumba workouts....however, I was disappointed that this set had duplicate workouts from another set i already have. Other than that, it's great. Not my favourite set from Zumba but its okay.
