Great for frying turkeys

I've used this thermometer quite a few times now; both to fry turkeys and in the kitchen attached to my cast-iron dutch oven. It is way more reliable than the garbage thermometers that came with my turkey fryer. So far I've just hand washed it but it does say dishwasher safe. The silicone coating around the edges is nice and grippy.

This is a cool thermometer

I'm just trying my hand at candy making and I gotta say, this thermometer has become my little apprentice. I love that the clip is secure, the measures are easy to read and I love the accuracy of this little wonder. I even use it to check other foods and meats that I cook.

It reads temperature as it should

It does what it should - read temperature - and seems well made. Compared to another thermometer I have, it seems to be accurate, and the rubber edge should make it less prone to damage when setting it down on hard surfaces. Just what I wanted.

Hot Item

Works great and the silicone on the guage makes it easy to handle in hot temperatures. Using to temp hot oil.

Doesn't work.

I am happy to bring the rating of this device down. It does not work. It does not tell the proper temperature. I would not recommend it to anyone. It ruined 2 batches of fudge and I have never ruined fudge before. I don't believe most reviews anymore. I just don't. Out of 11 items I ordered only about 2 of them are actually any good. I probably won't buy one more item from Amazon no matter how much they seem to have just everything that no one else has. Truth is, they don't either.

Fast and accurate

The thermometer updated quickly which was nice so I didn't overshoot the temperature when I was making nougat

Nice economical, works as intended to replace one for propane deep fryer

Very accurate

When we first received the thermometer, we used it for some deep frying. We had difficulty controlling the temperature and we thought there might be a problem with the thermometer. It turns out the problem was us. :) I tested it in briskly boiling water for 5 minutes and the needle sat solidly at 212F / 100C. Great thermometer for the price.
