Really like this roll. Just enough adhesion to not move around while sanding but easy to remove. Easy to cut with utility knife. Grit seemed to last as long as expected and left wood very smooth.

Just use blue tape!

Don’t listen to reviews that whine about the powerful stickiness. You want it to stick! Just protect your pad with a few strips of blue tape first or use old worn out 1/4 sheets ( I even tape any the ripped), load that in and cut your new sticky piece to length (6” works well for me, ) then go to town, when it finally wears out - they last ridiculously long!) just tear everything off, your original foam pad is protected and rig up another sheet. I have an old Rigid 2500 and this fits fine. I’m thrilled with this roll. To make my sanding even easier between deck boards, I did the same trick with my oscillating multifunction tool using the scraper blade. I covered it in blue tape, cut the roll in half and to length (3”x 2.25”) and folded it over the taped blade. Voila a great sander for small spaces and the paper stays on and lasts long!

great find!!!

I have a old porter cable hand sander and like the stick on sandpaper vs. my new palm sander. This was a great idea to sell by the yard! the width is perfect and very easy to cut, (I stick the sandpaper to the sander lining it up, then cut the paper. I had an impossible time finding the old style that came pre cut and so much more expensive than this! Highly suggest this item.

Been woodworking for 30 years, BEST sandpaper out there

I have been woodworking for 30+ years, and have tried virtually every brand of sandpaper on the market. Longevity is key, and the grit on this sandpaper lasts longer than anything I've tried. Any sandpaper will clog depending on what material you are trying to remove, but I've found that when just sanding wood this sandpaper only needs periodical cleaning during use. I usually use an old paint brush or air hose to freshen up the surface, then go back to work. As for the comments on the strong adhesive backing, I agree it's very strong but I consider that a benefit. I keep a heat gun handy around the shop, and just hit the sandpaper for about 5-10 seconds and it is easily removed. Yes, it leaves some residue but I'm usually just replacing it with another sheet anyway. Every so often, I'll use some lighter fluid to remove excess adhesive residue. Hope they continue to make this product for years and years, I'm getting too old to waste time trying to hunt down quality products. If anyone has rolls they want to get rid of, please send them my way - I'll take them!!!

Revision to Adhesive backed sandpaper roll over OEM provided attachment method.

So much easier and faster to install and remove on a vibrating sander than the alternative of cutting sandpaper sheets down to 1/4 sheet size to fit on the pad and then fiddling with the clamp mechanism to fasten in place. The Porter Cable self adhesive roll is supplied with a quality, long lasting, effective grit with strong adhesive backed paper substrate that holds firmly in use and is fairly easy to cleanly remove when time to replace. I have had very good results with this sandpaper on both pine and white ash lumber. Highly recommended! REVISION TO REVIEW, January 25, 2021: In subsequent application of this sandpaper roll to the same vibrating sander, I experienced the same quality adhesion and usability, however when time to remove the abrasive on following day, the adhesive stuck to the rubber pad sander base so tenaciously that removal required scraping and breaking it off in very small pieces (a time consuming and frustrating job). The removal also caused chunks of the rubber pad of the sander to tear away from the base. The further use use of this product is discontinued until a satisfactory solution from PORTER CABLE is provided. Amazon, Kindly forward this email review to the manufacturer for response.

Very durable sandpaper

This sandpaper is amazing. Wish i had found it yrs ago. If you do any type of woodworking and require a sandpaper that can be utilized in a multitude of applications this one will fit most all your needs. It can be stuck to almost anything you can wrap your hand around or a flat electric sander and you can get you job sanded out. Will i purchase AGAIN, absolutely. Over and over as long as the product remains the same.
