Make sure this is the right valve for you

I originally ordered this GP1092203 valve and it is for the same faucet, but for a newer revision. If you have the older version then you will need the all brass and copper valve K-GP77006-RP (the good old quality Kohler) otherwise this newer part number is largely plastic and won't even be close to fitting. Unfortunately the only way I know how to tell the difference is disassemble the faucet before ordering the replacement part. if the valve you have is plastic bodied then this is the right part if it is all brass and copper then you will need K-GP77006-RP.

Wrong part

If you are replacing your bathroom sink faucet, this is probably not the part you need. I took the part number direct from the faucet service part list for my faucet. The part I received is way too tall for the original fixture. I called a plumber and he showed me the replacement valve he uses and it matched what I took out of the original fixture. As far as I can tell, Kohler changed the part number at some point. The plumber told me he replaces these valves all the time and he has never seen the value I received in a bathroom sink faucet. He said he has seen them in certain bathtub faucets. Just to clarify, the part Amazon shipped matches the part number on the package but the packaged part number is not the same as the original part and will not work as a direct replacement.

Part Fine, BUT KOHLER sucks

Kohler products lifetime warranty sucks !!!!. I Spoke with Warranty Tech support only to find out the part was no longer manufactured. I purchased the EXPENSIVE faucet in 2004. The faucet was manufactured as a 1 piece molded unit. Since I did not have a receipt or proof of purchase, KOHLER would NOT replace the unit, nor could they provide the part, since it was no longer manufactured (and out of stock). So a new faucet was now going to cost me $616 to replace...SO I bought another brand much better quality and 1/3rd the price.
