Works fine for my sump application

I have replaceable sections of 1.5" ID PVC pipe and pumps in my sump system. About once a year, I swap out the pump and pipe sections with replacements after I find evidence of iron ocher buildup. I disassemble the pipe sections from the pump and let it completely dry out - the ocher gets crumbly rather than sticky, making it easy to brush out. I run the brush thru the pipe sections a few times, and use a small brush to clean out the check valve. Afterwards, I use a pressure washer on the pump and pipe sections for final cleaning, and re-assemble for that to be ready to swap back in sometime in the future. The brush does not hug the pipe walls quite as tightly as I would prefer, but it does an adequate job and the pressure wash finishes the job.
