Nice hold

My daughter is in competition cheer and uses hair gel regularly during her competitions. So we definitely go through a lot of hair gel. I ordered this because it’s black, she’s used so many different types of hair gel, and they start to get a little flaky and turn white as it flakes. This hair gel provides a very nice long, lasting hold and does not get flaky. The black is also really nice because it blends into her dark brown hair really well.

Great for 4C hair

Surprisingly this gel works great on my 4C edges! The gel is a nice thick consistency and it smells like green apples which is a plus .

Dose the job

I recently purchased the Xtreme Performance Black Styling Hair Gel with Aloe Vera, 8.82 oz Jar (Pack of 12) for my son to use for his daily school routine and Latin dance classes. The scent is not overpowering, and the hold is very natural-looking. It keeps my son's hair neatly styled throughout the day without any flaking or buildup. I will recommend this hair gel for anyone looking for a reliable and effective styling product.

Good, but the "Pro-Expert" version is usually the better buy

I tested both Xtreme's "Performance Black" and "Pro-Expert" hair gels. This "Performance Black" version has a few differences: "15x hold" vs. "10x hold" A little over double the cost per ounce (at the time of this review) The jar is about half the size "For men" vs. "for everyone" Slight cologne scent that fades pretty quickly vs. a fresh, sort of aloe/cucumber scent I don't need that much holding power and the regular version is enough for me. I prefer the scent and it's much cheaper. I would go with the "Pro-Expert" over the "Performance Black" if you don't need extra hold that you can't get with the "Pro-Expert" version.

Smells like a high school guys locker room

Not saying it's a bad smell, but yet it smells like I was back in high school again. When a guys locker room just smelled like axe body spray lol. It's a clumpier gel that I am used to but it does have a decent hold without clumping my hair together but it does hold my hair in the direction I generally shape it. I'll have to update after using it for a while or changing bottles so I can determine consistency. But this is a review for the first bottle

Strong hold

I use the Wetline Extreme brand of hair gel regularly. After trying this I'll probably be sticking to the clear version I normally use. Pros for me and my hair: nice scent, very strong hold, not overly drying, thick and easy to handle Cons for me and my hair: Leaves a hard crunchy cast on my hair that I am not able to break using my normal methods. The cast also does not loosen on its own. I actually like the smaller size of these containers. I will use this since I have so much, but will need to play around with leave in and oils to minimize the crunch.

Nice hold, great value

This hair gel provides great hold on wet or dry hair. It's lightly scented, and has a pleasant smell. The color of the gel did not change the color of my hair. It washes out of my hair easily. This is a great value for 12 jars.
