Bought these for confined space welding
I purchased these goggles for extreme confined space mirror welding that I perform on a daily basis at work. I would hope that a newbie welder wouldn’t attempt to use these without a fire-resistant hood covering the exposed parts of their face because they will experience UV burns without one. These goggles really shouldn’t be advertised as ready-to-use without a hood or additional face covering. At any rate, I removed the questionable #10 lens and installed a gold #10. The plastic flip-up piece of the goggles separates easily from the rubber portion, so I had to tape them together. For $5 I’m not too upset. I’ve already used them once and they enabled me to access an area where my already small work-issued welding shield wouldn’t fit, so I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I hope they’ll last a few months before falling apart.

Sturdy dark-shade welding flip up goggles
These goggles do the job but are hazardous in that the clear underglass protection has no UV blocking (at 365 NM test-light wavelength). An inexperienced user might initiate an arc before flipping down the UV blocking filter-glass, thus exposing the eye briefly to powerful photon radiation at close-range....

Perfect for making Ghostbusters goggles!!!
Was able to use these to scratch-build Ghostbusters goggles for Halloween and it worked out GREAT!!!

for a tight spot.........put a auto change variable in it....
there like lawnmower googles...ha.......i put a auto change variable 2x4 in it....and for tight spots its A FLAWLESS SETUP.....

Manage to do 1 tight job but not long term use
Touch the glass and it comes off when you try to flip it close.
