This is better than what I expected. Adult small fit 5'6"/30" waist male perfect for use under basketball shorts. Was not too long nor short. Will hide well under bball shorts.

Awesome Compression Shorts with Padding and Plenty of Support

These Under Armour compression shorts are pretty impressive. I have owned a few different compression shorts/pants over the past 3-4 years, but these are my first pair with padding and I can say they are undoubtedly my favorite pair already. I play flag football every weekend, and so this past weekend I gave these compression shorts a trial run. I am typically a 30 or 31 waist, and so I ordered this pair in a size Medium. This is certainly the right size for me. These shorts provided more than enough compression and support, and I had no issues with seams ripping or the material stretching. The padding is of a firm, memory foam type of material, and I think it really helped with alleviating the impact of blows from other players' legs or arms when they swiped at my flags. As you can see one of my pictures, the padding is not only at the thighs but also at the tailbone area, which seems pretty critical since a lot of time you end up falling on your rear when going up for a jump ball. The elastic band at the waist is tight and stretchy, and it seems like it should maintain its form/shape for plenty of uses. There didn't seem to be any specific washing instructions, and these came out of the wash just fine. I did take them out of the dryer a little early and let them finish off air drying. This may help with the longevity and durability of these shorts, but I can only make that call after many repeated uses. All in all, these compression shorts are perfect if you play any sort of contact sport or even for sprinting.

The Perfect Compression Short

Ok, maybe that's a bold claim, but I am truly happy with the extra protection these offer our son. Our son plays basketball-for his school, AAU and at the local parks and rec centers. To be honest, our son takes a beating. Knee knocks, elbows, you name it. But compression pants and shorts with the added padding does offer more protection-I figured at the very least his hips would be protected when he dives for a ball-his knees when he wears the full length pair. And because of that, I justify the extra price associated with garments like these. These are a bit pricier than some other garments that we've bought, but I do like the honeycomb padding. It moves much easier when our son is playing (his words). These have the same moisture wicking material as many of UA's other clothing-I've found it washes very well (we do use a sports detergent to maintain the material, and honestly to get rid of the odor!) and does indeed dry quickly. I don't put these in the dryer, but they dry in an hour or two on the drying rack. Our son has worn these during HS games and was surprised at how comfortable they were. Sometimes the padding seems to annoy him, slipping down over his knees, etc-but so far no complaints from these. Overall, despite the higher price tag (we've gotten other pairs for $40 to 50% less), I would recommend these if you are a more physical player and want the added protection.

Bulky Padding (Good Thing) but Probably Best for Basketball

I've worn a compression shorts with padding and these have the bulkiest padding yet. Quick note, I ordered a medium and I probably should have done a large (I'm size 34/36 pants) but I managed to get in these. Here are some things to consider. Quality: These shorts looked and felt like they were made of great material. I feel like they could take a beating. I'd expect these to last. Basketball use only: Let me explain. I think these should only be used for basketball or like sports (like the description states.) I use these for basketball and tried them once for ultimate frisbee. I was thinking of using them for when I have to dive for the frisbee. That was a mistake. The huge padding is great for basketball since you might fall mostly after jumping up for a rebound. In ultimate frisbee I might often be diving full speed and the big padding can hurt more, duh! I'll only use them for basketball now. Padding: There is definitely enough padding in these. A few times I got tricked into believing I had my phone in my pocket. It definitely does its job. Even though I ordered a smaller size, I hardly notice during a game. I'd imagine the right size would be great as well. I'd recommend these for their quality. Under Armour knows what they're doing.

Great fit other than the knee opening

This pair of shorts is spot on for a medium. The rise from crotch to waist is is good enough to wear the shorts high enough while also not crowding the crotch. The one issue I have is that the opening at the bottom knee is a bit small. I'd like it to stretch more so I can pull the shorts higher above my knees. Overall, a good padded compression short. Recommended 4 stars Cheers!

Works Well

We received a size Medium pair of 3-Pad compression shorts and my teenager wore them to a basketball practice. They were a little too tight and restricted movement so, we should have ordered a size Large (that is not a defect of the product, rather, I did not look at the sizing chart before ordering.) Otherwise, the padding is good enough to provide some protection during games/practices and the material is lightweight/breathable. After practice, we just tossed them in washing machine with the other sweaty gear and they came out fine.
