Buy your own anchors

These are very cute, I am not in studs so I had to use anchors….. And just like everyone says, get your own… first tap into the wall and the anchor broke like I was hitting glass. I had my own anchors already…. however I was going to try the ones provided… and it was a fail!

Too big to hold a standard hardback!

I was so excited to order these. I have so many books in stacks on my floor but only so much space in my actual bookcases. I thought that these would be a great way to display more of my books, but I'm not relegated to keeping them in a specific spot. Meaning, that anywhere I have a little extra space on my wall, I could put one of these and hold/display a nice stack of books. I loved the idea of the "floating" book look. However, when I went to put on the first book, the pedestal in which you're supposed to insert the book sticks out too far and is longer than the width of a standard-size hardback book. I tried various different hardback books and NONE of them would fit properly, so I was unable to achieve the "floating" book look. If I tried to do as instructed the bottom book would flap open. On the positive side, I am able to simply sit my stack of books on the shelf. So they actually are useful in that regard. This large size is supposed to hold 20 lbs (according to the product page), I don't know if I'm entirely sold on that number. I don't know if that number depends upon the bottom book being a little more structurally reinforced by being utilized in the correct way, but I've got at most 7 books on a stack, in a combo of hardback, trade paperback, and mass market paperback. Overall, not a complete loss, but a little disappointing that it doesn't actually work the way it's supposed to.

Amazing!

The media could not be loaded. Have had these for years! Be sure to order the small one or your standard hardback cover won’t stay put. I’ve clearly over-loaded them but they hold! MUST be in a stud. Would not trust otherwise. Getting ready to add more!

Strong, sturdy, easy to install

Bought these for my son’s room, books look cool floating and keeps them off the floor. A easy space saver compared to big clunky traditional bookshelves.

Great product, stylish and simple

An excellent invisible shelf. My only minor gripe is the fixings provided- the rawl plugs were quite thin / weak plastic, so I substituted my own fixings. Apart from that can't fault them

economical and efficient

A simple to use, creative alternative to buying a normal book shelf, if you are short of space or just want to be a bit different, this product is definitely the first one to go for. I read about it on sites and decided to give it a go and I'm glad i did. It looks nice (because you can't see it once it's installed) and doesn't take up a lot of space. ------------------------------ Update (December 2014) ------------------------------ Wow, it's been ages, I'm still here and so is this thing. Currently it has 14 books of varying weight, shape and size (don't judge!) stacked on it and it has not broken, been damaged or anything. I still recommend it, if it's no longer sold, buy a similar product!
