Functional and reliable

I have had some sort of Jasco Zwave paddle switch for almost 7 years, around 26 of them now, and only once did 1 die during a lightning storm. I buy this brand over the GE because they are slightly cheaper and made by the same company. (Jasco) This new model is very easy to install, slightly thinner giving you more room in the box and pairs easily to Hubitat. GE sells a matching fan control switch if you need that, I haven’t seen that in this brand yet. Highly recommend, only wish they were cheaper

Very easy to install

I have used various home automation switches since 1999. X10, Insteon, Z-wave, etc. Most (especially the dimmers) require pro-rating, oversize boxes, and have wires permanently attached, so you have to do more work inside the box when upgrading. These are drop in ready. Side screws, a traveler wire screw for three way switched arrangements, and half the depth of a typical smart switch. Very easy to install, whether or not you use the three way option.

Basic smart switches, exactly what we needed

These are great switches. The automatic line/load terminals make installation a breeze, and the included neutral jumper wire made connecting the required neutral wire easy. With the extra wires in our already crowded box, it made things a little more difficult to push back into place, but after putting on the wall plate you can't tell anything is off. The switches blend in great with our existing regular switch in the same box. Other than the blue LED, you almost can't tell these switches are any different. The rocker doesn't stay up or down, it's more of an on/off button where you press on the upper part to turn on and the lower part to turn off. We needed to setup two outdoor lights up with SmartThings so we could easily control and automate them. Adding them to SmartThings was very easy, just scan the QR code on the front and push the rocker up or down to activate it. It took a minute to find them and pair, but they were identified as GE switches. The blue LED indicator on the front is lit when the switch is on, and off when the switch is off. This makes it easy to see from a distance if the switch is on or off.

Works as expected

Works as expected. No problem connecting to my Smartthings hub. Only have this installed for two weeks now so I cannot comment on reliability.

Tough to pair with home assistant

These switches are nice quality and I love how they did the electrical connections. Really easy to connect and daisy chain if you gang multiple switches together. I use home assistant with zwave js and zooz stick. The pairing was a real pain, had to include and exclude multiple times before they got setup right, but I’m sure that’s a js software issue. Had the same problem with a lock.

Works perfectly in Home Assistant

Each switch took me about 3 minutes to install and set up. My only minor criticism is that the jumper wires that come in the box appear to be aluminium or perhaps tinned rather than pure copper.
