Best boot socks in my career

In my almost 2 decades of service, these are hands down the best socks I've ever owned. They breath well, great cushioning and feel great on my feet. I can spend 12+ hours on my feet in steel toes with these no problem!

Added cushion and protection from rubbing

I have a desk job but with the issued socks my boots would rub against my heels causing pain whenever I walked. I was about to invest in more boots but I decided to try these socks. Immediately upon wearing these I got relief. I am female so these reach my knees which I prefer over the calf length socks. Spending a little extra for these socks was worth it.

Great sox

They are soft & easy to put on. They stay in place all day without slipping. Wash nicely in warm water. I have some swelling in my legs & these sox help keep it in check. Great sox.

The best combat boot socks

It came time for me to get new socks as my old fox river ones starting to rip and tear after 7 years of constant use. I didn't go directly box to fox river because even though their socks are great, they were always just a tad bit short me and would slide down my leg. I bought a single pair of socks from 3 different manufacturers both online and at the military clothing store and none really impressed me. I came across these socks but was put off by the price initially. After trying the other ones I bought a single pair of these just to see if they live up to their rating and price. I was immediately impressed with them, these are hands down the most comfortable socks i've ever worn for work (military). I wore the pair on and off for a couple weeks just to see how they held up and they didn't show any signs of wear so I bought 4 more pairs. These make a pair of okayish combat boots feel instantly more comfortable. They are plenty long enough with ample room to come all the way up to the knee and haven't once slipped down on me. If you can overcome the price scare, I can promise you these will become your favorite socks. I recommend 100%

Recommend To All Veterans and Those Seeking Comfort

I wish I had a few pair of these when I served in the USN In the late 80’s ! I was on my feet all day / night , on that hard deck while on board a supply ship . My feet would be so sore day in / day out . So I’ve been now wearing these just for home and work . I only have the one pair . I will definitely be purchasing more ! I wear a size 10 boot and the Large are perfect . I included a photo of how high these socks actually reach . Just about 4 “ below the knee cap . ( 4” give or take 1/4” ). So far my feet have been thanking me . Highly Recommend to everyone who either have to spend all day on their feet , or if you are just seeking a more comfortable pair of socks . Again ... wish these were available to all those that Served our Country back in the day !!

Great for unbroken in boots!

I used these socks for my basic training, and it kept my feet a comfortable temperature and just very secure in the boot. Definitely worth the money!

Just as good as boot camp

Bought these in boot camp at Parris island, imagine the shock of an 18 year old that socks could be $20 a pair! Almost 15 years later, I probably have bought $500 of these and have hiked tens of thousands of miles wearing combat boots and never had a blister that couldn’t be blamed on a new boot. They are thick, plush and make your boots feel a little bit small, but boy are they warm and dry, and for some reason I always have the urge to split wood or do some other type of manly woodsman activities when I wear them. Long love Thorlos, the greatest sock this Marine has worn.

Good, but not as good as they were.

Decent socks- made in USA which is good. Not as good as they used to be 15 years ago . This review written without the socks having gotten tough field wear. Unisex sizing is always nonsense.

Best fitting socks ever

What a wonderful pair of socks. Fit perfectly and are so comfortable. Because of thickness my boots are a half size bigger then normal. Great for long hard walks and marches.

Not the Thorlos quality I am used to

I discovered Thorlos prior to a deployment to Afghanistan in 2006. I still had those same socks until 2019, which is a testament to their quality. I have placed new orders through Amazon now in 2019, 2020, and most recently in April 2022. All of these socks are now threadbare, with three pair thrown out due to holes. I'm not sure what happened to their quality control, but these are not the same great socks I discovered in the mid-00s.

Poor quality and comfortable

Like: padded comfort, thick yet somewhat breathable, protects feet from seems and hotspots within boot. Dislike: poor quality, exterior shin areas daily abraded during routine wear, stitching is weak and missing in some spots.

Pictures didn’t match sock height

Images showed normal sock height (10cm above ankle). Socks received were knee high, 25cm above ankle. Images need to be changed to accurately show product.
