These socks meet my need for cushioning and durability.

As a Full-Time Firefighter, I have been using the Thorlo Unisex Moderate Cushion Safety Steel Toe Socks with THORLON for years. Having flat feet and over pronating when I walk, I require socks with adequate cushioning. I wear the Danner 8” Acadia (no steel toe) Uniform boot for my station boots. I like wearing these socks because of the cushioning over the toes and soles of my feet. However, if I am not mistaken it seems to me that the cushioning has decreased a bit over the years. If I have to use my brush boots, I wear a different sock. I would not recommend wearing these socks with your brush boots because the cushioning, in my opinion, would be inadequate. Thorlo does have other socks and liners that would be excellent to wear with your brush boots. If I have to use my structural turnout boots, these socks are excellent and provide adequate cushioning for my feet. As for the durability of the Thorlo socks when compared to other sock manufacturers, I have found that these socks weather the hard use. I usually buy a set of 10 pairs of socks every year. I work at a very active station and I am on specialized teams that are active as well. As with any review of a product, consider if the product will meet or exceed your requirements, i.e. cold weather, hot weather, duration of use, etc. I hope that this review has helped you. Be safe.

Awesome

I love these socks.. i bought enough for the whole week after buying some new steel toe work boots. These Thorlo socks made the break in very easy.. and working 50-60 hrs a week a lot more bearable. I love all of Thorlo's socks but these are my new favorites! Good cushion in the heel, breathable on top. I feel good in saying no one likes sweaty feet after a long day.. i like that the padded toe part really helps with the steel toe issues. you know when you bend and it pushes against the top part of your toes and its just not comfortable.. well it wasnt until i bought these great socks.. now it doesnt bother me at all.. you know.. i might buy another few pairs.. just to have.. maybe they will get wet or something.. have a spare in the truck just incase.. sorry its not very technical.. idk all the technology and so forth.. i know my feet fell better with them, than without them. try out a pair.. then buy another 5-6 later.. thanks.

Not as thick or as sturdy as I had hoped

These are OK socks, and there is extra cushioning in the toes, but I had been expecting and hoped for a heavier weight sock. Rated 3 stars for "average" - aside from the bit of extra cushion from the ball of the foot through the toes, they didn't offer much beyond what a regular heavy weight or hiking sock might do. Quality is good but the function was not as expected.

I do not know if I should gives these socks 5 stars or 2 stars

These are the most comfortable socks I have ever had with a work boot.These are the first socks that do not bunch up and make my feet hurt they are the perfect fit and feel for my feet.However I gave these an overall 3 stars because they do not last at all even those cheap socks that you get in packs at Wall Mart last a lot longer. It has been about 3 or 4 months and they have basically fallen apart.For how much these cost I expect them to last longer.I am wearing Timberland Pit Boss Boots so they are not cheap boots.I will probably still have to keep buying these socks because although they do not last long they are the only socks that do not make my feet hurt.So I had to choose between making my wallet hurt a little right now or making my feet hurt and possibly making my wallet hurt a lot later due to foot problems in the future.

Best safety boot sock I have used to date!

When I wear my steel-toe boots for a couple of house, there was no problem. But after a few hours that edge on the tor bothered the heck out of me. To the point that I would get blisters. I was ready to blame the boots, but decided to do some research. Ah - special socks. Made sense. I ordered several different pairs. For all day use, these are the best. The padding on top goes further - past the toes. It's thicker and provides more cushion against that steel edge. Use steel toe boots or shoes all day? Get these socks!

Best socks ever!

Who would have ever thought that socks could make such a difference! I saw these advertised in TV and decided to buy them for my husband. He has a bad back that effects his feet, especially when he is working all day in a factory wearing steel toe boots. He was very skeptical that socks would make any difference at all. By his lunch break he was calling to ask the brand of the socks and where I got them. His friends wanted to order them too. He was very impressed! Expensive? Yes! But we'll worth the investment for some added comfort on the workroom floor!

Reviewers were correct, great pair of socks

I'm beginning to depend on Amazon.com reviews before I buy anything these days. And I know why. With all the products out there to choose from, you really need the opinions of others to make a wise decision and not waste your hard-earned money. I liked what people said about these socks, and sure enough, they were right. These have to be the most comfortable pair of socks I own. I'm going to throw out all the cheap socks in my drawer and invest in Thorlos. They make you feel like you are walking on air. Life is too short to wear cheap socks.
