Good product, poor installation instructions

I recently installed this 118552 T-One Connector assembly on my 2009 Grand Caravan. The materials seemed to be good quality. The one page instruction sheet was not very helpful. The pictures on the sheet were poor quality and didn’t help me much. I called technical support at Tow Ready to get an answer to a question on the taillight hookups (on the Dodge, you only need to hook the kit to the bottom socket). The support people were helpful and courteous. They referred me to some installation videos that etrailer.com made. These are short but helpful: http://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Tow-Ready/118552.html The biggest pain in the installation was running the wire from the battery back to the drivers side taillight assembly. The low clearance of the van made this somewhat challenging. I used several more zip ties than what was provided in the kit. Had I watched the installation video, I would have saved myself a considerable amount of time. All things considered, I would recommend purchasing this assembly. This is a good product and I am satisfied with it.

Great reliable tow wiring, worked for my 2008 town and country.

I purchased the Tow Ready 118552 T-One Connector Assembly for Dodge Grand Caravan and installed it on a Chrysler town and country 2008 mini van. I used online videos to get instructions on how to install this towing wires. The unit arrives well packaged with instructions that are not very useful as every van is a little different. I mounted the module via zip ties to the undercarrage of my vehicle and used thicker zip ties than supplied in the kit. The brake connectors plugged in with my stock minivan without issue. Routing the batter wire to the back of the car was a pain and I used a combination of routing it behind the wheel wells and undercarriage zip ties to keep it safe. We have went on 4-5 trips with the camper, cross country road trip and it works great. The wires and connectors are sturdy. No electrical issues with the device, my rear lights or the connector to the camper. If I needed another I would buy this brand and maybe get a friend to split the headache of installing care tow wiring. Would highly recommend.

Works as intended. Fairly easy installation

This product has been in use for about two months without issue in a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. The installation was fairly easy. The only challenging aspect was running the power wire to the battery. I ran it along the inside of the vehicle behind the body panels and under the floor boards. I was able to fish the wire through the grommet hole in the fire wall that was located under the dash near the brake pedal. In order to ensure the most secure contact possible, the only change I made was to solder all wire connections rather than use the crimp connectors that came with the harness.

Very happy so far

Installation was very easy. The t-connectors concept made connections to the rear brake lights extremely easy and reliable. Instructions were clear and all the parts/hardware necessary were provided. Plenty of zip ties to secure the cables. Because I don't have a hoist, I used my portable ramps that I typically use for oil change and put them aligned with my front and rear tires on the driver's side so I could run the live cable from the battery. No issues there either. It took me about once hour to complete the work. I decided to solder the copper cable before I crimped with the connector supplied. Tested and used successfully so far. I recommend this product.

I am well pleased with the final result.

I had little trouble installing this with the help of my teen daughter. I watched some installation videos on youtube that really helped me prepare. Once installed, this works just as it should. It did take longer than I expected to install. I was hoping to be done in the 30 - 45 minute range, instead it took about an hour and a half. It really wasn't very difficult to install, but running the wire to the battery required getting under the van. That was uncomfortable, and definitely was the slowest part of the install. I am well pleased with the final result.

great product, poor instruction

performs for what it is supposed to do. took me a few hours. paper instructions are basically worthless. watched two YouTube videos side by side and kept pausing to go do the next steps. neither vid was good, but the two combined was good enough.

Awesome product, OEM like quality, easy to install, has all necessary supplies

Took my time installing this, very happy with the result. This by far outdoes the OEM part (which is just a T-tap without the isolator box). Yes one does have to run 12V from the front but that is part of this kit's intent to isolate the vehicle's lighting system from the trailer connector - it needs its own 15A power feed to accomplish this. The isolation of power aspect is critically important, as trailers often have electrical faults, and if launching boats, keeps a salt water short on the trailer from bringing down the vehicle's lighting. Two minor complaints: the instructions refer to a 'red wire' off the isolator box, this in fact was a black in colour in my kit - novice installers may get stumped by this; and the white ground wire off the isolator box wasn't long enough (had to get creative and use a self tapping screw behind the driver's side taillight to 'make' a ground that also served to mount the isolator box there also).

Straight forward install on my 2010 grand caravan. Chose to solder instead of using crimps provided. Otherwise good quality. Was about an hour to complete.
