Great substitute for Category 1 Pats bent washers

I was kind of appalled at what they charge for the Pats Easy Change category 1 bent washers and had some problems with the hands off attachment of implements anyway so I bought a box of these flat washers to use where I was having problems with the bent washers. It seemed that under peculiar circumstances the clevis pin would get knocked out of the hole on the hitch pin because the washer would manage to flip the retaining ring out far enough to disengage it. I wish I actually had seen this as it occurred but my best guess is that the round bent over part of the washer would push on the ring and either due to bouncing around or other forces the pin would manage to disengage and fall off. Flat washers looked like an easy and far less pricey solution to this issue since the pin retains both sides of the washer instead of just one and there is no longer anything contacting the ring on the clevis pin. The now entirely loose washer is not a huge problem for me because most of my attachments require some manual wrestling to get them mounted anyway despite the Easy Change adapter. The bent part of the Pats washer is to hold the washer next to the pin so you can raise the hitch in place without the washers interfering. These washers are the same OD and ID as the Pats category 1 washers and are slightly thicker as well. Also, making your own 'bent' washers using these would be fairly simple. Just drill a hole on one side tangent to the washer hole and then heat 'n beat the side with the hole over 90 degrees. Finish up with a grinder to remove the excess metal. The other option is to form a heavy wire or thin rod loop and tack weld that to one side of the washer to keep it next to the pin.
