This was recommended by my child's dentist

At my child's first dental appointment the hygienist recommended this toothbrush. I think we are on our third one for our almost 7 year old. However, it is not the toothbrushes fault. My child loves to bite down or barely open his mouth while we brush his teeth. Anyway, every checkup they tell me his teeth look great. I really do not think we do the world's best job brushing his teeth, but this tooth brush makes us look like amazing parents! His dentist also recommend that we brush his teeth at least once a day until he is 8 years old. I don't know if that is a common recommendation now, but I can't argue with clean checkups!

I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It was always a fight to get to get my five year old son to brush his teeth even half-heartedly, and now he is asking to do it multiple times a day and doing it well! The app is great, with lots of small rewards for daily brushing for his Sparkly but not too much incentive that keeps him in the app after teeth brushing (we limit screen time and there isn’t a fight about turning off the app after tooth brushing). His desire to brush his teeth properly has even rubbed off on his two year old sister, who now has a baby electric toothbrush of her own!

I was hesitant about the app but it's awesome.

My sister is a dental hygienist and suggested this for my kid's next toothbrush. When she told me that her kids brushed their teeth in front of a screen, I thought she was crazy. I decided to give it a try since she's the expert and it's the best thing that's happened to my morning routine since my kid started dressing themselves. What was once a 20 minute process of convincing and questioning is now an under 10 minute easy peasy process. My kid even finishes the brush and mouth washing routine faster now that she has to have dry hands to open her "gift." She reminds ME about brushing to keep her streak, it's awesome.

Good product

We bought this for our daughter 3 years ago and it lasted with daily use up until now. The metal piece you put the tooth brush head on makes a loud noise when on and has come loose. All in all we are happy with the toothbrush. Now just trying to decide if we will buy another or try a different brand.

Great product

I just purchase this as a replacement for the last Sonicare. I am a dental professional. This is quite (compared to Kid’s Oral B unit), works well. It lasted longer than my high end Sonicare.

Lots of features, surprising

I wasn't sure my kid would like the characters on this toothbrush, but he weirdly does. He enjoys that you can change the stickers. Maybe they'll put out sticker styles for slightly older kids one day, but they do find changing it out fun! We haven't used all the features yet- it's got more in store than expected at this price point, and my son is excited to try it out. The app is game-like rather than a waste of space on your phone. We bought this one because of a study saying kids prefer this type of brush head over the oral-b circle style. We also tried the game toothbrush you can get on Amazon, but it was super loud and the kid didn't improve brushing- just moved it up and down fast in one spot to play the game...

think it's better to use it when she is 4 yrs or ...

update,my one is dead after 1yr,can not be charged. I bought it for 2yrs and 9 months child,think it's better to use it when she is 4 yrs or at least 3.5,because the brush is quite hard though. my daughter is using another normal brush with the app right now,the app is great and free to download. she love brush her teeth everyday and feed the small animal in the app.

BUYER BEWARE. Genuine Sonicare toothbrush but for USA / Canada market so charger will not fit UK 'shaver' socket. Had to buy a separate UK charger.

I Love Sonicare Toothbrushes! - Dental Professional Review

I am a Certified Dental Assistant and I swear by Sonicare Toothbrushes. They have an eye appealing design. They look like your regular toothbrush with a larger grippy handle. This makes it easier for kids and elderly with limited dexterity, to rotate the toothbrush placement and do a better job cleaning. The head can clean more than one tooth at a time where as Oral-B is a round head that cleans one at a time. On top of that you have additional assistance from the ultrasonic vibration, loosening and brushing food and plaque away. An added bonus, you can “monitor” how well you or your child is brushing, and know where your or they need to improve. All of this helps the user do better with their oral hygiene and reduces the chances of getting cavities and visits to the dentist. (But REMEMBER there is a increased chance if you don’t floss on a regular basis along with brushing… you know who you are ????). ????

Vibrates to the point of not being able to use:(

I've never had a sonic brush myself and didn't think of the difference between sonic and spin. A spin brush does just that and has movement. The sonic your unable to see movement and not sure how it's better than a normal toothbrush, which is more useful next to the spin one. Before it got to the next step of having to hold him down, I tried it myself. I understood why the pushing, hitting it away to almost crying which he hasn't done to that extent yet, when I tried to go in after him letting me the 1st time. I don't know how to get past the extreme tickling from the extreme vibration. Its in its box and not able to use and tried to return the next day but not able due to hygienic reasons. I wrote and asked if there was anything I can do in this situation but havent had a reply:( It's difficult being a single mom making ends meet most times so paying this much on a toothbrush is tough. It would of been worth every penny if he could get used to it eventually but I couldn't so can't force him to:(
