If you need to replace the stem, buy this whole unit

Someone installed this new sharkbite unit for me a few years ago, but now it leaks from the handle. I tried all the tightening and removing stem, packing nut etc, but still leaks. My issue is that just purchasing the stem, costs as much as a brand new fully assembled sillcock as this one. Its ridiculous that you cant just by the packing nut or any separate pieces except for the stem. instead of buying the stem, I bought a whole brand new unit to disassemble and replace the moving parts. stem alone is 43.00..same price as a brand new full unit. hmmm lets see...which one to buy....duh. I was reading the Q&A on here and someone said it started leaking after 3 months. The manufacture said they needed to buy a replacement stem. 3 months is crazy to start leaking unless it wasn't installed properly. next time I need to replace the entire faucet, I will probably purchase another brand that has all the parts that you can fix easily with it costing a fortune.

Pretty good quality

Overall, it’s pretty beefy and seems like a quality piece. Super easy to install and worked great in replacing my worn out sillcock. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars… it seems like 147 turns to turn it on or off. Not a huge deal but something worth noting.

Perfect DIY replacement

Recommend shark bite gauge to eliminate guess work. Was easy to install with no soldering needed. I used a combination gauge and burr remover along with emery cloth to clean old copper pipe. Works better then expected and no leaks

Easy to install but annoying handle

I like shark bite products, and this was super easy to install on my existing PEX line. However, the thin, metal handle with sharp pointy shark fins is super annoying! Will be looking to find a replacement handle ASAP.

Did the trick

Replaced an outdoor sillcock with this new one. Worked like a charm and easy install. This brand is a bit pricier but it would seem that is the price of convenience.

Amazingly easy to install and seems higher quality than the Moen I had to replace. Ugly though.

Was pumped to see this sillcock on Amazon because I’ve used shark bite fittings before and they work great. Only downside is how ugly the handle is. I’m going to find another to mount if I can. Super easy to install and no leaks yet.

Installation

The old valve was starting to leak. Relaxed with the shark bite valve . On the old valve the water line was crimped on. I cut the line and installed the new valve and pushed in the waterline. So simple to install. Works great.

Pretty easy to use and install!

This faucet was to replace one already in place. Just had to cut the PEX pipe before the old faucet, remove and put in the new one. I recommend you watch a youtube video (Sharkbite has a few) to show how, in addition to the simple instructions you get. Also make sure you have a tool to cut the PEX pipe properly. The only concern I have so far is that the holes for fastening to the exterior wall are tapered and open on the outside. This caused my screws to slide off a bit as I tightened them. I had to add washers to keep them in place better. Installation was good and hope the product lasts in the long term.

Works as expected.

The item works well and as expected, winter will tell if it doesn't leak after I drain the outdoor pipes. If there was a weakpoint to this it would be that the handle is hard to grip and turn on/off. And it seems to reduce the flow a little bit. But this might be standard across all tools like this. The fit and finish and quality of the metal work was good and everything was the same size as advertized.
