Good solution for carry-on size restriction

Purchased for a European group travel trip, where only 1 piece of checked luggage and one "small" carry-on were allowed. The carry-on had to fit in the overhead compartment of the travel coach, so a normal size carry-on was out of the question. This Samsonite backpack fit the bill perfectly, with several compartments that allowed excellent organization of all the personal items needing to be kept separate from the large suitcase. Another nice feature was that the backpack could be piggy-backed on the extended handle of the large suitcase.

Perfect size!

Love this backpack! Im 5’4” and it’s not huge or heavy. It fits perfectly on my roller suitcase too, with plenty of room fir my hand to grip the handle of the roller. I also love it fir day trips. I can get all my goodies in:change of clothing, computer, basic office stuff, and some snacks with my big water bottle! Get it!

Great with one exception

I ordered in the SMALLEST size instead of a purse to use as a personal item allowed on airlines in addition to your carryon. The description of size is correct. It is 15.5" x 10.5" x 5". I can fit my Dell Inspiron 13 (11.6" x 8.5" laptop) in the laptop compartment with room to spare even in a protective case and with the power cord. The middle compartment has a slot for a tablet and/or a folder of documents, and enough space for the quart size container of liquids you have to pull out for TSA and a rolled up rain jacket. There is a net slot in which I can place a USB hub and mouse and other cables. The front compartment has 2 pen slots and 2 other slots - the smaller slot holds my LG earbud case and the larger my cellphone when in transit. There is a zippered compartment on the opposite side in which a US passport in an RFID sleeve fits perfectly. There are also slots for wat appears to be credit cards which I do not use for that purpose. I use them for other incidentals. This bag serves me better than a travel purse and it frees up my carryon for other essentials. It makes the TSA security process go smoothly since I only have to open this bag and not my carryon. The bag is well-padded and comfortable to carry and frankly the shoulder straps are beefier than they need to be adding to the bulkiness. I love the slot in the back that allows me to slip the bag over the extended handle of my carryon. There are 3 things that prevents this item getting a 5-star. 1. There is NO WATER BOTTLE HOLDER. I think this is a big oversight on the part of Samsonite. Who doesn't carry water? Putting a cold water bottle that has condensation on the outside is not good to put inside this pack with electronics. 2. The zipper tabs are not designed to install a security device. In crowded subways, public transit etc, a simple security lock is a good deterrent for opportunist pick pockets. 3. Unlike the larger models of this bag, the laptop compartment does not open fully to lie flat in order to go through a TSA scanner which would avoid having to remove your laptop and tablet for scanning. #2 and #3 are not barn burners, but the lack of water bottle holder is. I have a waist pack that does have a bottle holder but I hate having to wear it in addition to this pack, so I am trying to figure out a way I can attach one to the side of the bag.

I love this Backàck

It is very well constructed. Robust zippers. Lots of pockets and compartments. The use is very comfortable, the air system works great, you don't sweat your back. Handle on top is awesome thick and safe to grab. Side pockets for bottles are very handy too. Best Backpack I had so far in my life. Already bought it twice. The first one I used it for 3 years in a row everyday carrying my 16 inch laptop until a hole appeared in the bottom. I could have patched it but I don't want to risk loosing items. Still I think it was a reasonable lifetime for a backpack you use EVERY DAY, 3 years, it's about 1000 days of use. I love the looks too! Great design.

My partner loves this backpack for traveling

I'll be doing the review this year, because my partner and I wanted to see how durable this backpack really is. He's been traveling for work for almost 7 months now and it still sturdy and comfortable. Very happy with this product till now.

Backpack of My Dreams

I had high hopes for this product and I was not disappointed. I wanted a smart looking backpack that I could use for business and leisure trips. I just returned from a trip from the US to South Africa. (Four long haul flights, transmitting London.) This bag had compartments for my lap top and electronics, my documents, my phone, some toiletries and a change of clothes. The side pockets were big enough for my water bottle and steel coffee mug. it was pretty full, but it sat well on my back comfortably. When I put it on the floor it remained steadily upright. The quality is what I expect from a Samsonite product - strong and durable. I just cannot fault it. Great value for money.

This is my dream backpack

I have been buying backpacks for many years, searching for the perfect one. Now I have found it. I don't like large, bulky backpacks and most of the small ones only have one compartment or maybe two. This one is the perfect size for me and has all the space I need. It has 3 compartments and lots of pockets inside. The material is very tough, easy to keep clean, lightly water resistant and durable. It's comfortable to wear and doesn't cause sweating. It really it my dream backpack and I use it to carry my mirrorless camera gear and audio gear. I can't say enough good about this bag.

Muy práctica y buen diseño

Es una mochila a mi parecer muy bonita y elegante. Es algo práctica para cosas de oficina. Lo único malo que le veo es que las correas sostiene todo el peso pero están adheridas al área donde está el sierre de la computadora. Este sierre con el tiempo sufrirá un desgaste inmenso que puede terminar por romperse si se cargan varios artículos pesados. Algunas computadoras aún siendo de 13” son pesadas. Y en adición a esto, este artículo venía con parte de la costura fuera de posición. Por el precio y marca esperaba que no tenga defectos pero sí lo tiene. No le afecta a su funcionalidad pero al final no esperaba este detalle.

Not a sufficient padding to protect a laptop.

I carry my laptop in a slim case that has padding in it's lining to protect it if it falls. The bag is only big enough for a 16-inch laptop, without the case. At the bottom of the bags laptop sleeve is a thin piece of material between the laptop and the outside of the bag. If you drop the bag, you will most certainly damage your laptop. I bought this bag because I liked the design of an older model of the same brand, until its bad design saw my laptop fall out of the bag on my back, and onto the ground while I walked to work. Thought that this new design would be an improvement. This company is clearly not designing with full concern for the safety of your expensive equipment. I won't be buying from them again.

All I need in a compact Backpack

I love this Backpack and have been using it every single day for 7 months now with no signs at all of colour fading or wear & tear. My last backpack (different brand) was big and encouraged me to carry too many things I didn't really need). This one can comfortably fit my laptop, my 2 1/2" binder without pushing on the laptop, my steel security keyed cable, a couple of ear phones, cell phone, keys to my work cabinet, name tag, a couple of pens as well as work access card and many reward cards. Can't ask for more. Highly recommend it :-)

Poor quality cloth gave way in 9 months

For such a brand and expensive bag the back cloth tore in 9 months. Hope they keep their promise of life time warranty
