Works great but requires regular maintenance.

This suction bar functionally is everything I could have wanted. Easy to install, easy to grab, and the suction is strong enough that I expect it could hold up to a fall. Basically perfect as far as the intended function of the product. Except! It loses suction power over time. So much so that it will randomly fall off the wall in the middle of the night. This forces you to put the bar up again every other day or more often. I would still buy this, but I'd prefer this functionality without needing to redo it daily.

Is a balancing bar not a grab bar

I have had this product for several months. I waited to write the review because I wanted to see how it worked over time. This is a great product. It is as attractive as this sort of item could be . It is well made. A major advantage is that the tile does not have to be damaged for installation. It is not made for someone who will be hanging on for dear life as the suction will randomly come loose. I have not had both ends come off at the same time yet and because the suction is strong it was not a disaster when one end did come loose. You must be sure your tile is flat and dry and the cup is not near a grout line when you engage the suction. In summary: The product is what is says it is. This is for someone who is temporarily injured or recovering and is a little unsteady, not for an elder who may need it for a lifeline.

Great if you position them properly

My wife broke her foot and then was having trouble getting into the tub-shower. I installed two of these handles exactly where she said she needed them ... but had to adjust because at first the suction cup was over the seam between tiles. Once I turned the handles a little so that both were entirely on the tile with grout seams all around, I could tighten the suction and then pull as hard as I could without moving them. Still there, two months later and still holding just as strong.

Works well

I love it because it can be placed where it actually needs to be for the person who uses it. I wish it was shorter in length as it could only be secured vertically due to the curved shower wall.

Exceeds expectations

Since my spouse became ill she is unsteady on her feet so I ordered a two pack of these grips for our shower. I wasn’t sure how well they would work, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well they held. You get a very strong grip and it didn’t require drilling into the tile.

If you need a strong hold grab bar.... this is it !!! Extremely happy with this item ! Purchased others that had the "green/red" window for assuring a strong hold....the metal pins scratched the tile and constantly came loose!! Rusted terribly ????

Consider tile spacing

If you’re mounting on tile, suction cups may not latch due to grout seams. Description should indicate The distance between the center point of one suction cup, and the centerpoint of the other

"CAUTION"; Reset The Bar Before Each Use...

Been using this for a while now and the shortcomings have started to appear. I can't just tug my way into the shower using this. I first have to reset the bar and suction grips before I can put any weight on them. Only then will this handle keep me standing when I'm hurting pretty bad. At about 225 pounds, it would almost tear the shower wall it's attached to when needed. The suction cups are incredibly strong, but that's only after cleaning and resetting the bar properly. Don't rely on this going in. You have to ensure it is set properly "EVERY TIME BEFORE USE". Don't make the mistake of grabbing it and wiping-out. The Strength Will Hold You Up During Your Shower, But Again, "Only After Resetting The Bars' Cups Properly". Be Mindful and Careful...

Perfect!

I'm using this as a replacement washer door handle for a Kenmore C47192 front loading washer. The kids tore off the washer door handle a couple of days ago. (The door was locked because the washer was in Delayed Start). It fits perfectly and solidly, provides an excellent grip, the diameter is perfect, it's much better than the OEM handle, also much less expensive ($15 vs $95). It attaches to the top right corner of the door with excellent succion, however it's not quite long enough to fit vertically, so I have it installed diagonally, with the other succion cup attached to the window. The door doesn't warp when you pull the handle as very little effort is required to open the door. An excellent purchase, will probably buy another one when the kids tear the dryer door handle.

Does the job

We bought this because my father-in-law uses our walk-in shower when he visits. He is frail and unsteady on his feet and we didn't want to put up a permanent handle. This has been perfect. We can attach it in exactly the place he needs it and remove it when he leaves. It is simple to attach and seems to have a really strong grip.
