Colonial Lady Costume

Colonial Lady Peasant Dress, Mobcap I ordered an "XL" colonial lady costume. The next day when I saw the confirmation of the order I noticed that it showed "L" for the size. I tried to cancel the order but was told it already shipped but I could return it if it didn't fit. There were several choices for this particular costume, all the same, I may have researched one, then looked at others and the one I finally clicked on may have been a different vendor that the one I wanted. Whatever went wrong, I was not satisfied. It took about 10 days for the product to arrive at my daughter's in New York. This was a surprise gift to her. Of course, it did not fit. I told her to return it but so far she has not done so, she is a teacher and very busy this time of year. I am out not only the cost of the costume but shipping. This has discouraged me from ordering clothing from Amazon. Better to go to a store if it is available so it could be tried on.

Loved the outfit, my daughter was so happy and got lots of compliments on it after her performance.

Zipper was fused to the material - could not zip it

The costume itself was cute, a bit smaller than expected. Somehow the zipper was glued or fused to the material during manufacturing, and it absolutely would not zip up. There was no absolutely no zipping it unless I was willing to destroy the costume. Made my daughter wear a light brown shirt under it and had to use safety pins to secure the back of it so she could wear it for a presentation. As long as you didn’t look at her back, it was fine. The fact that I couldn’t zipper it closed may be the saving grave for her being able to wear it. If it actually zippered, it would have been too tight in the bodice. It went in the garbage after only being worn once.

Liked the dress - but make sure you have time to press it out. It was terribly wrinkled because of the way it was packaged. I could have probably done better in terms of a fit with the 6-8 - it would have been a better fit for size 6 - but because of some of the reviews I ordered a bigger size. Still a nice costume for the price.

Order a size larger than expected. I ordered this for my daughter for a school occasion and am glad I read reviews first. Normally an adult small is the perfect fit for her. I ordered the medium and it fit perfectly. Other than the sizing, this is a quality product. It was perfect for her American Revolution Day at school.

Nice costume but too small

This is a very nice well-made costume , Just keep in mind if you are a small order a medium if you are a medium order a large etc. it does run small. The lengh I would say is appropriate

This was a nice costume. I purchased this for a Colonial Days event at my daughters school. I read the previous reviews of ordering a size up and it fit perfectly. My daughter normally wears an adult Medium but I ordered a Large in this dress. This will need to be pressed well because it was extremely wrinkled out of the package. Very Satisfied with this purchase.
