Bulbs Are Everything

We have an older home with lower ceilings. As much as I would love to have fancy, dramatic light fixtures, that's not practical here. In particular, the room meant to be a dining room (currently my husband's office, thank you, COVID), is challenged, as it was a conversion room - a once-patio enclosed to be something more sophisticated. The ceiling slopes, meaning parts of the room have an even lower ceiling than the rest of the house. The previous fixture finally gave up, and gave about as much illumination as a single match on the dark side of the moon. We took a chance on this one, loving the simple, clean look as well as the ability to mount it close to the ceiling itself. My husband installed it with little problem (only the issues we typically have with our older home, such as short wires, etc), and stated that anyone with more modern homes should have zero problems whatsoever. The look of this is really very nice. It could go just as easily in a breakfast nook as it could in a seafood restaurant, dining room, or farmhouse kitchen. It really is versatile. The real issue? The bulbs. As there is zero frosting on the bulbs, you are going to want to make sure you by bulbs that are attractive. You also will have to find bulbs with the perfect brightness. The ones we have now are certainly pretty, but WOW. My retinas are still burning hours later after switching the lights on to take a pic for this review. So, you need Goldilocks bulbs. That's my main takeaway for you.

Awesome addition to your farmhouse decor

I got this fixture for our upcoming remodel as our decor will be farmhouse. It is a nice fixture - I didn't have any issues with the glass shades hanging crooked and none of them were chipped or cracked. The fixture is somewhat heavy for one its size, which was a pleasant surprise. Installation is straightforward and should be very simple, even if replacing an existing fixture. As with many fixtures, the warning sticker says there is a 60w bulb limit. Please note that has to do with the amount of HEAT put out by a 60w incandescent bulb and has nothing to do with the amount of lumens (brightness). Since LED lights don't get hot, you are only limited by the size of the bulb and, of course, the base (this fixture takes standard bulb bases). I put mine together to verify that everything was straight, and stuck LED Edison style bulbs in it. Wow, it looks really good! It will definitely look good in my "new house"! I should also add that there are other styles in the Lassiter model line that will coordinate nicely with this one. I definitely recommend this fixture!

Very cheaply made

Bright, but not the best quality. I really like the style and that the light bulbs point down for bright lighting. I have 3 60 watt bulbs and it’s actually too bright. I have it installed over my kitchen sink and it looks great except all the globes are crooked. The lamps are hanging down and kept in place only by the light socket. It’s impossible to really secure it. The globes can move at all times. It’s not a huge deal since it’s not something you touch often, but it does represent the poor quality of the fixture. There was also a crack in one of the lamp shades. It was small enough that it could be hidden, but is worth mentioning. Overall it is a bright fixture, but the quality isn’t good enough to justify the price. It is difficult to change the bulbs because the globes are so small and the globes can’t be removed. I can barely fit my hand, but my husband cannot. I wouldn’t recommend it.
