Easy to install

These window sash locks are easy to install and look good. I used these to replace some old sash locks that had been painted over.

Not taken care of

I opened my package and the box was torn open with the hook and nails on the bottom of the bag. It’ll still work but it’s all scratched up.

It will slice your thumb open.

I used this in a utilitarian application, so appearance was not important, however the small tab by which you open and close the latch was cut with perfect 90 degree corners leaving a sharp points I had to file and ease to not injure myself when using it. This of course exposes the metal below the thin plating, so you dont want this item in a place where it can be seen. It is also loose fitting so the latch runs past the end stops. A bit of hammering was required to make it stop correctly and not get jammed. If you want a cheap latch, keep looking, because these will require repairs before being able to be installed and used.

Nice looking but flimsy sash lock

They look really nice, but are flimsy. If you turn the bolt all the way closed then the upper half of the window will raise since the latch is not high enough to allow the bolt to close all the way. I guess it could be bent up but then it would probably weaken the thin metal. They only cost $1 each so what was I expecting?
