Been buying for years - love this product!

Excellent moisturizer with a great lasting scent - lasts all day!

Not moisturizing, not good smelling

Although I was excited to replace the hand cream I use at my desk at work, I can't replace it with this hand cream. My hands are always dry after using the soap from the restrooms at work. I rush back to my desk so I can slather on hand cream to make them feel better. There's 2 problems with this hand cream. 1. The smell is not nice. It doesn't smell bad when you're sniffing it from the container, but when you put it on your hands, the smell kind of changes, and it's just not pleasant. It does smell like celery, but I'm not sure what Tanka beans are supposed to smell like. The end result is that myself and 3 of my co-workers all tried it and none of us are fans of the smell. 2. It's not moisturizing. Surprisingly, it just puts a layer of coverage that seems to quickly disappear in a short period of time. Basically, my hands are still dry after using it twice. Again, I asked 2 of my coworkers to provide their opinion and they agreed that it wasn't very moisturizing. Although I'm surprised, I just don't care for the scent or the quality of the cream. I wanted to like it and solicited additional opinions to see if I was off on my assessment, but I received the same feedback from others that I determined on my own.

Lovely cream, but celery and tonka bean is a very weird scent

This is lovely hand cream, but the celery and tonka bean is a very strange scent. I mean, sure, I wondered. But I also figured, "Hey, those scent people probably know what they're doing. It's not really going to smell like celery." But it does. Celery and hints of spices and vanilla. If you want to smell like you've been working in the kitchen with exotic and maybe illegal ingredients (tonka beans are illegal as a food product in the US), this is the scent for you. I recommend the cream to you, though. It's pleasantly thick out of the tube and absorbs well.

Smell isn't the best

I'm not personally offended by this lotion's fragrance, but my husband finds it absolutely unbearable. In his defense, it's not very pleasant. It's not refreshing or delightful at all. The formula of the lotion itself isn't bad at all. It feels great on my hands, it's just not the best smelling.

A great moisturizer, but I didn't really enjoy the smell. It was strange to me nose and I ended up washing the cream off. It had an incredible texture though, and given a different scent I would use this time and time again.

A very nice hand cream

This is a very nice hand cream. I don't use it very often, but it does the job with a pleasant aroma. It is not runny as many lotions, and requires only a small dab to do the job. To me, this is a "luxury" or gift product, with it's main asset being the excellent aroma of wild celery (one of my favorites). I'm not familiar with tonka bean, so I can't comment on that. I use hand cream mainly during the winter months (of New England) or after gardening during the summer. In the past, I have usedPre de Provence White Gardenia Soap Bar andPre de Provence Warm and Spic, No. 63 Beard Oil , and the aromas of those products, too, tend to be subtle enough to live with all day. I recommend this company's products for their overall quality and organic aromas.

Smells like clean cat

Pre de Provence Private Collection Hand Cream - Wild Celery and Tonka Bean This is a wonderfully creamy, smooth hand cream. A little goes a long way and it goes on like a dream. I would give it 5 full starts except my wife doesn't like the smell. Without telling what she'd used, she put it on and asked me what I thought it smelled like. "Clean cat" was the answer. But I meant it as a positive. She laughed, agreed that it's not exactly offensive, but it's just not the clean citrus scent she prefers in her soap and lotion. As an aside, the Tonka bean is in fact poisonous and banned by the FDA. Chefs smuggle it in to use in minute quantities for a really special flavor. So, if you like living dangerously, this is the hand cream for you!

Luxury at your hands!

My goodness!!! This will leave your skin moisturized, hydrated and super soft. It has a rich texture, which is absolutely amazing and I am crazy about. The fragrance is something different, that I cannot explain or describe but it is so good. I perceive natural notes in here, and it reminds me of something but I m not sure what that is. The fragrance, I would say is very delicate and not too much. According to your taste, I think you will appreciate this as much as I do. This came in a pretty small box, very decorated and colorful. I'm adding this to my collection of hand lotions by Pre de Provence, and this is my second favorite. My number one fav is Mirabelle. It's so exquisite!! These are amazing as gifts, and they come in a great presentation.
