Space-aged hair stuff!

I'm an Oribe junkie (fangirl? obsessee?), and recently chopped my hair off (from waist-length to chin-length). All of a sudden my Hair Product Requirements completely changed. Rather than aiming for sleek, I want volume. Rather than just shiny, I want texture and lift and..."oomph." This Fiber Groom stuff is seriously space-aged hair goop. You dip into the tub with your finger, and there really are "fibers" (strings!) that sort of stretch across your fingers. I use as instructed -- emulsify it between my palms quite a bit, then work it through my hair (focusing mostly on the ends, in my case). It's a nice, waxy product that gives some separation, a bit of hold, some dimension, some texture, some shine -- and a little tiny bit goes a long way. I was surprised by how small the tub is, but when I realized a dime-sized amount takes care of my whole head, it'll last a while. I wish the scent was the usual Oribe-strong (like the texturizing spray), but it still smells nice. Overall -- it does what it says it will do, and it's fun (like a science project!) when you dig it out of the container. (also -- I purchased this from seller BlueMercury and, with expedited shipping, it arrived in ONE day -- faster than promised. Three cheers there).

Best product of its type I've used; great alternative to Sumotech

As a man with fairly thick, wavy hair cut to around 1-2 inches on top, my hair product of choice has usually been some kind of flexible paste/wax with a matte-to-natural shine. I had previously been a user of Sumotech when my stylist recommended this product. This is probably the most similar product I've found to Sumotech, with the added benefits of slightly more flexibility and shine. It gives my hair some lift and volume without weighing it down or looking slick. The hold isn't quite as strong as Sumotech's is, so I wouldn't use this for overly radical or spiky hairstyles, but if you're looking for a fairly natural, textured hold, this is a great alternative. The biggest downside, of course, is the price, but this is priced competitively to alternatives such as Sumotech or Aveda Molding Clay. I found one jar lasted about 4 months, so overall the price isn't quite as bad as it first seems. As a final note, I should mention that the scent is fantastic. It's a very light, clean, neutral scent that isn't at all overpowering.

Good hold, matte finish

Been my go to product for over a year now. Good hold, regardless of hair length. I like the matte finish.

This product does take a bit of getting used to. I discovered this after trying some of my mother's. A little bit is really all that's needed (I have fairly long curly hair). It is a bit tacky/stringy when taking from the jar, however, once rubbed between hands, warmed up, and dispersed through my hair (I use it when my hair is wet), it does provide soft hold that allows for movement. It seems to also help my hair retain moisture and beat the hot and humid summer days. It does have a slightly residual feel to it, which is why I gave it 4 stars, some people may not like this. I still use it.

When I was in like elementary i used to use a lot of gel to spike my hair, but then as I got older, I began to like more of a natural look. So then I Became less of a fan of putting things in my hair, especially Gel. I stopped using hair products for a long time. But then a friend of mine recommended this to me because I was looking to try something out, that would still make my hair look nice and natural but at the same time give it some better texture and volume and this nailed it. It smells nice, works great, and doesn't leave your hair feeling all nasty or like you have stuff in it at all. It's a really good product and I would recommend it to anyone.

Lots of Volume!

The company has obviously spent a lot of time researching how to control hair. I've never seen a product like this. It's pretty firm, but not waxy. As you pull your finger away from the product, there are these little strands of product, almost like glue, it's unique. You don't need much of it at all, I use just what I can dab onto my index finger. I then spread it all over my hands and then "fluff" my hair with my hands. You can tell which hair has the product and which doesn't, so you just keep fluffing until its spread evenly and you've gotten as much off your hands as you can. Then you can do like anything with your hair. I have been looking for a product to give my hair volume and this does the trick. It's a keeper!

An overpriced hair product that smells good and comes in a fancy package, that's basically it. The hold is almost non existent for both for slightly longer hair (on top) or shorter one, and I have fine hair.

A high-quality product that performs really, really well !

Oribe makes high-quality products and this one is no different. I found it took only a very small amount, spread out on my hands, and run through my hair to get desired style. I found it was forgiving on the amount of time taken to style whereas other products set up too fast. Some hair grooming products have a noxious smell IMO but this one is pretty good and low odour. Though I received this product for free, I will be reordering and paying for it when I run out…nice product. It is easily the better than all the pastes I have purchased from my hairdresser over the years. Some of the most impressive features are how long the style lasts and how nice it feels…almost like it is not there. Somewhat surprising to most would be that it is made with a lot of natural ingredients! Pros: - color and keratin treatment safe - provides UV protection for hair - vegan, cruelty free, and gluten free - very nice packaging - only a small amount required - low odour (and smells pretty good anyhow) - lasting ability - hair feel when applied - paraben free - sulfate free - salt free Cons: - high price point (but high quality too!)
