FOR PERFECT FIT: Check features of existing fixtures....

I had to replace two of these "trims" and spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to install the first one. I was attempting the impossible task of hooking the end of the wires to the hooks inside of the light "can". Dummy! Lowered the 2nd fixture to see how it was mounted inside! So easy. Don't even think about the hooks on the end of the wire. (They're like a "stop" mechanism so the fixture won't fall out of the ceiling!) Just slide the wire itself into the hooks inside the can and when both wires are in place, push straight up and you're all set. There's a thin white foam insulation inside the trim - leave it there. And remove the foam trim from existing fixture (probably stuck to the ceiling!) Results: a perfect seal without any light leaking around the outside of the trim (as experienced by one other reviewer.) Maybe you don't need all these instructions, but they may help someone like me who didn't know what I was doing, but figgered it out! Good Luck!

Lexan version is TOUGH!

Just received these rings, I had asked a question regarding the Lexan version being "tougher" prior to ordering. To my complete satisfaction these rings are exactly that...stout and should provide years of service. I had a prior set of rings purchased from Home Depot that were in service for about 5 years and when changing a bulb one of the plastic hold-downs for the springs snapped off in my hands rendering the ring useless. The ring had become brittle with age (only 5 years) which is why I was willing to spend more if the Lexan version was a better product. The plastic on the new rings is not only thicker but the springs are also of a thicker gauge as well leaving me to believe that these rings will last much longer. The glass reflector is also of good quality and that said the area being illuminated appears brighter. Don't hesitate on purchasing these rings they are great!

Easy

Finally - the gaping hole in the ceiling of my front porch has been covered. I have lived here 12 years and couldn't take that uncovered light another day. Easy to install but I did watch a YouTube video before installation. Glad I did.

These look great and fit perfectly

I put these over my front porch outdoor can lights to keep out insects. They looked so great we bought 20 and used them indoors for a cleaner, more modern look to our ceiling lighting. We have LED lights or I might have worried about possible heat build up.
