not as big as it looks, good light

I bought this bulb to replace some halogen bulbs. From the picture, it looks like it'd be quite big - my biggest concern in ordering it was that it looked quite large compared to the base. It is bigger than the halogen, but not that much bigger. It puts out a good light - too bright to look at directly. At the same time I ordered this one, I ordered a 2TECH: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B018ISKH6C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 This one is definitely brighter than the 2TECH. It's 5w vs 4.5w. It's also larger and a few dollars more expensive. It's also a bit whiter light that th 2TECH. For the rest of my lights, I will order this one. This one also came in the usual 2-day Prime. The 2TECH, even though also Prime, took about 2 WEEKS to arrive.

Can't go wrong with these bulbs!

I bought a few of these to replace some equivalent halogen bulbs for a couple of bathroom fixtures. After having installed 6 of them, I've found that they produce a nice, pleasant light that's bright enough to fully illuminate my bathroom. I've had them in for a couple of months, and haven't had any burnouts, which is more than I can see for the equivalent halogen bulbs. My only complaint is that they're a bit tall and barely fit in my fixture. For whatever reason there'a a good deal of deadspace in the cylinder that makes these tall than they should be. Nevertheless, if you're looking for some E11 LED bulbs, you can go wrong with these.

This is a nice (much needed product)

This is a nice (much needed product). The lumen (total quantity of visible light emitted by the source) description provided in the listing is accurate and you'll be happy if you are replacing a 50W halogen bulb. I think the product is very well built and, as with all LEDs, when powered, the light is not hot to the touch. Unfortunately, the light is considerably longer (larger?) than a standard 50W halogen and it doesn't fit in my application, so I had to return it. As always, Amazon is awesome and provided an immediate refund.

This work great. They look exactly as pictured. Some of the other reviewers posted much larger looking bulbs. I would give them 5 stars except they do not turn off. I have them on my ceiling fan and when I turn the lights off, they simply dim. Strange. It must be because they draw so little energy that even off they are lit? Don't know. We don't mind having the light on all the time. It is just strange.

decent light, big housing

bought to install in a ceiling fan, this bulb is extremely long compared to the halogen bulb and wouldn't fit in the enclosure. I took off the frosted glass tip and it just cleared within my ceiling fan now. It's not as bright as the standard 60 watt bulb but alas this is the highest equivalent wattage available.

Stopped working at 7% of it's stated average service life.

Purchased this item in May 2016, and it's been installed since. It just stopped working (Jan 2018). The only reason that I paid this expensive light was so that it would last a substantial period of time. As per the product page, this should last for 35,000 hours, or roughly four years if turned on 24 hours a day. I estimate that this light, on average, was turned on for approximately 4 hours per day. Therefore, for approximately 20 months, at four hours per day, it has been in estimated service of 2,400 hours, or approximately 7% of the products stated average life. This was not installed on a dimmer. Based on the above, this product is trash, and should not be purchased. Beyond the above, even if it did work, it gave off lousy light. It wasn't our sole source of light, so I never thought about switching it.

Good, money saving LED light bulb!

I bought this to replace an old 100W bulb, which is by itself, works as a tiny space heater! I can see my electricity bill going down already, but I have to deduct 1 star, because for some reason, it will flicker every now and then. It is also not as bright as I hoped for, but it does the job for now.

Replaced a E11 halogen bulb in a light fixture; so far so good; produces decent light, no flickering, no issues. If this lasts for even a fraction of the stated life, it will be a good return on investment.
