Best Faucet I've Ever Had, With One Minor Issue

So glad I chose this faucet! We needed to replace an old single-handle Delta. Did some research and decided to go with Moen. The old Delta faucet was incredibly difficult to re-install - one of the fastening nuts underneath was broken and stuck and nothing was helping, not even a basin wrench. In the end we had to break it apart, which was difficult and not recommended if you can avoid it! When all that was done, the Moen was easy to install. The instructions were good but could have been more clear in places. A deep well socket is included to attach underneath as well as a (plastic) socket-wrench type tool to secure the nut. Another plus was that the flex hose supply lines were long and we did not need any additional flex hoses to attach to the water supply. One minor issue was re-attaching the aerator (they recommend you remove it initially to flush the line, then reattach it). We screwed it back on at least 6 times but water kept leaking around it. In the end we had to apply teflon tape all around it to prevent the water seepage. Minor annoyance, but now everything works perfectly. If anything changes I will update this review. Otherwise I am loving this new faucet. It looks beautiful and handles very smoothly.

Great Faucet and Great Service

Works great. I had a problem where it would slide from side to side and tightening it would only last a short time. I made a video of it happening. Moen sent me another faucet for free. I then discovered the problem was that the original installation instructions had an error. The replacement faucet had the correct instructions and it has been problem free. While the problem could have been solved just by sending me new instructions (and avoided by documentation quality control), the fact that they were willing to send me a brand new faucet to fix a problem shows that the company will stand by their product and go out of their way to make sure you have a working faucet. It is a pleasure to use this, especially compared to my old two knob faucet. All it takes is one finger to turn on, off, and adjust temperature. If your hands are dirty, you can even use your wrist or forearm.

Built to Last

Much heavier duty than a regular 'basic' faucet. Was purchased with the intent of having a renter attach a portable dishwasher hookup to the aerator. With the Moen mounting system, it took no more than 5 minutes to install, once the old one was off.

No more free returns, make sure you need it...

It is a heavy-duty, quality product. However, I cannot use it, as I need to be able to remove the aerator to use a Culligan water filter attachment and apparently this cannot be done. I see that I am going to be charged $8.58 in shipping fees, to return it--whatever happened to "FREE RETURNS?" From now on, I will go to Home Depot and see the product in person, rather wasting money for stuff that I cannot use.

Moen Quality!

It's Moen quality, what more needs to be said? The package included all the parts needed for installation, it was easy to install (even for an amateur), and it worked perfectly! The faucet is sturdily built and feels like quality throughout. I highly recommend this Moen product!

good looking faucet

A solid, good looking faucet. It might be a bit pricey compared to some of the other stuff out there, but this faucet is built to last. I put it in to replace a 20 year old Moen that still worked, but that I had allowed to get too crudded up in my slop sink. I expect this faucet to last every bit as long. Add to that great Moen service. Related to this project I needed a part for a 20 year old soap dispenser (I broke the bottle being clumsy). Moen service helped me find the right part and I was able to get it from Amazon in a day.

Buying Commercial Grade is so much better investment...

Perfect! Great Value. We learned that buying Commercial Grade is so much better of an investment. We purchased a regular faucet less than a year ago and had to replace it due to cheap plastic parts inside. Not fun, since we only found out there was a problem when we discovered wet, soggy floor under our sink. Our old faucet was high arc - looked nice, but was wobbly and as we found out was very light weight due to cheap components. This Moen 8701 is a heavyweight due to quality parts. It was laughable, the difference in weight of the two different items. The arc on this is just enough to wash our big pots without any trouble.

Easy Install

I used this to replace a 10 year old Moen that was corroded from Florida water. It was a super easy install. Didn't even need a basin wrench. Goes on with a deep well socket. Included and attached braided supply lines matched my shutoffs perfectly . Maybe an hour tops and the job was done. The heft of this part lets you know it is commercial grade.

very very disappointed. this is not well built

very very disappointed. this is not well built. i came home one day after work it was leaking water all day because my wife used it in the morning and the handle got stuck open. i opened the handle and released it. it was fine but then again it happened to me at another time. i wiggled the handled 3 o 4 times it got released again. now i figured out the problem if you lift the handle up all the way and move it to left or right it get stuck. there is no adjustment inside. will not buy moen again. they build them cheap in china probably
