Beautiful sunglasses, if a little narrow.

Maui Jim's Hukilau's Square Sunglasses are very nicely made. They are lightweight, but aren't flimsy or cheap feeling. They feel appropriate for the price. I also own Ray-Ban, Hugo Boss, and Lacoste sunglasses and these Maui Jim sunglasses are definitely a step above those. Even the included case is wonderful. It folds down flat when you're not using it to take up less space in your bag. The finish on the sunglasses is exemplary. The metal is polished to a high shine, the lenses are flawless, and the spring loaded temples are robust feeling. There are subtle Maui Jim logos on the temples and left lens. I am a 5'6" and 135 pound male with an average sized oval head. These sunglasses fit me well and are comfortable to wear all-day. They are narrow, however, and the hinges bow out a bit to accommodate my head. I've never had another pair of sunglasses bow out like this. They don't put pressure on my head though. These are listed as unisex, so if you have a large head they might not fit. The mirrored lenses have a light brown tint, with a subtle hint of blue. When wearing them they give the world a warm and rosy hue, but it's not extreme. The polarizing works effectively. All in all... great sunglasses, that are beautifully made.

Summery gold sunglasses

These sunglasses remind me of sunny summer days. The combination of shiny gold frames and gold-to-silver gradient mirror lenses is gorgeous. They look and feel well-made and high-quality. As soon as I put them on, they dress up whatever I’m wearing. The square shaped lenses are stylish and flattering. I like them a lot better than round or classic aviator lenses because they look more modern. The 52-mm lens size fits my face perfectly (I’m an adult female with a smallish, oval-shaped face). The glasses are comfortable to wear and feel lightweight, but not extremely lightweight because of the quality of the lenses. I'm used to sunglasses without nose tabs, so that’s been a little adjustment for me. The polarized lenses do a good job cutting down on sun glare. Mirror lenses tend to show fingerprints more than non-mirror lenses, but I keep a microfiber cloth in the case to keep them smudge-free. The glasses come with a black and gold Maui Jim case and a cool green microfiber cloth. As someone new to this brand, I’m very happy with these. 4.5 stars.

the lens gives off an amber like color that is really soothing- i love them this is easily 5 stars

The media could not be loaded. I am not saying everyone will have the same color effect when viewing the day through this awesome lens but that is my impression of the world when looking through them. I actually know for sure different people will see different dominant colors but i see a pink/amber filtered effect which is the neatest filter i have looked through for an extended period of time. In the short video i have included i use a strange man that i have been using a lot lately. This man is strange but means well and raises money for charity. In this clip we see me sneaking up on him while he is meditating looking at his tomato plants. I really like the way the sunglasses look when worn with a hat such as this. The hat this man chose is a little primitive but it still shows the neat way the pairing of headgear with the sunglasses can be accomplished with little effort. In Ohio where i live and hence the background of the video the sun has been as intense as it can get here. The UV index has been 9 out of 10 with a rare 6 out of 10 yesterday. This high UV output is more effecting for me because i am always outdoor in either wooded or open areas. There is a particularly hot area i have been venturing out into where the sun rays become so powerful it seems like that area draws a higher amount for some reason. These sweet sunglasses are from the Maui Jim brand and you can tell instantly upon placing them on your head that they are of a high quality. I would recommend these more for casual walking around due to their nice look that seems to want to be worn with style. This recommendation is based totally on the visual look being more compatible fashion wise with casual wear. I did test these on a walk in that super hot epicenter area where the rays seem to torch the pavement and the sunglasses made me forget where i was. The neat thing about the lens is the filtered effect made me zone out into the trees and i was able to pick out a woodpecker and a small bright yellow bird that seemed enhanced by the lens. To clarify--when i say filtered effect i mean what everything looks like when viewed through the sunglasses. I really like the silvery look when you are looking at the person wearing them. You can see through the top part if you look closely at the wearer. I was able to the the mans eyes when he was standing in the light and they had that amber color to them. This is a neat effect where the coating of the UV protection on the lens works like it should be solid dark and that just shows the quality. In the past when i can see the person eyes standing in front of them that i usually indicative of a cheaper lens. Not in this case- here with this super thin lens you have a futuristic design that gives you top sun protection without weighing down the users face. I am especially sensitive on my nose are with unfortunate summer allergies making any weight on there a major discomfort. With this pair of sunglasses i have no weight on that pressure point that then travels to the frontal lobe areas and in turn gives a headache. In one of the pictures i have included you can see a rectangular black case. This is an elaborate case that contains a microfiber towel. The inclusion of this elaborate case that looks like it has leather in it- (some kind of what appears to be synthetic leather thing)- is actually sort of comically absurd because there is no case for the glasses themselves. I am not upset by this as i have several extra glasses cases. What i find odd is that with a pair of sunglasses that exceeds 250.00 i would think a case of some sort would be included. I ordered a bulk set of plastic two dollars joke sunglasses and each one came with a slip case. I also have a high end pair of sunglasses that is about half the price of these- but that is still high as in over a hundred dollars- and that pair came with a zip up hard plastic case and inside there was another slip felt case. I am just pointing this out because these glasses are so nice it would be a shame to see a pair get damaged during the shipping process. Luckily my pair came in perfect condition. This lack of case is not even a bad enough thing for me to knock this down a star- this is 100 percent a five star item- i just found the no case thing an interesting observation. I am so happy i can now wear sunglasses again do this lightweight design which places my nasal allergies at bay. In conclusion i an very happy with these and recommend them with enthusiasm.

My new favorite

The only type of sunglasses I’ve liked for my face frame have been aviator. I wasn’t sure if I would like these or not. I gave them a try and I can tell you that these are the real deal! I’ve never spent more than $20.00 on sunglasses. I never thought there was a need to do so. I didn’t know sunglasses could have so many features. These glasses are clear, the frames hyper extend and the colors are brilliant. I have broke 99% of my glasses due to me or one of my kids sitting on my glasses and ruining the frames. The hyper extended frames should help with this. You can tell that they are not cheap plastic like I’m used to. They have some weight on them but not too much-just perfect. The only thing I’ve really noticed is that it’s best to clean it with the cloth provided with the glasses and not your shirt. Not that they get scratched but the smudges come out much better with the provided cloth. I am really happy with these glasses.

Beautful sunglasses

My wife says she feels like she needs to upgrade her wardrobe now that she has these glasses. Oh oh. She loves them. They fit her perfectly right out of the box, and they are very comfortable. One thing that struck us as odd is that we think that these are better suited for women than men, but it doesn't say that in the description online. The lens quality is impressive- the wife also said these are the best sunglasses she has ever owned. In the picture on Amazon, the gold to silver polarization are more pronounced, but they are still attractive. They came with a nice triangular box and polishing cloth.
