I don't like the bloated design

440G, it's too heavy. The bottom zipper and the trouser pocket at the thigh feel redundant, only adding weight

Comfortable and versatile

Comfortable and versatile. Good looking, but functional, with several zippered pockets and zippered legs at the ankles. Highly water repellent at first, but disappears after a few washes. Thinks that's true with most products like this, they're not rain pants. I now have two pairs. Many times, I've had a product I really like, and when I go to replace it, it's no longer manufactured. Didn't want that to happen with these pants.

Most likely the best pants I've worn for ease of cleaning

I've been a Marmot customer for over 20 years and these pants are on par with their quality.........exceptional. Most likely the best pants I've worn for ease of cleaning, comfort, fit and function. One of the best Northwest brands around in my opinion. I own two pairs......34/long, 34/short (true to size) and am buying a third pair. Regards PS.COTTON KILLS

Unbelievably Windproof.

Taken these out on several hikes in winter conditions. I was surprised at how windproof they were. My climbing partners keep worrying I'm going to get cold but I've been down to 10 degrees and comfortable. Planning to take these on Mt.Rainier!

Best cold weather golf pants ever

Great product

I read about the quality of these trousers, now I know why they are so popular. I used them in Iceland winter, in the wind and rain environment and I was fine. Comfortable, stretchy, light, they look great. I like the feeling on my skin, the soft touch of the external fabric. Side pocket with zip. Used for hiking so far, I feel the strong temptation to use them every day. Never used in heavy rain yet. My first choice for winter hiking trousers

Good but not quite what I was expecting.

M3 soft shell is apparently a summer weight material. The garment label makes this clear but the Amazon details don't. The seat and knees are not reinforced as stated either. I was looking to replace a worn pair of insulated winter trousers. M1 is apparently the correct material for winter. Who knew? Well I guess the rest of you do now! However these are excellent quality at a good price so won't be returning them. Leg zips are a bit pointless as they don't open wide enough to go over boots. However, they don't get in the way but would prevent shortening the standard 34" inside leg. This could be an issue for shorter buyers.

These pants are fantastic. So comfortable for general use, bike rides, dog walking etc. The shell material beads water and has 4 way stretch. I definitely recommend these pants. Recently wore them in really cold conditions watching kids skiing and I did get a little cold so would recommend wearing base in freezing conditions. If want pair trousers to keep warm check out Rabi Vapour rise which has soft shell outer and fleeced inner.

Excellent multi-purpose trousers....

I have a couple pairs of these as they are a great all round pair of pants that are extremely comfortable. Good for just casual wear down to the shops, just going for a walk or, as I often do, exercise in them. The zippers on the pockets make these trousers perfect for a long haul flight also. Another reviewer called them roomy. I wouldn't call them roomy - they are not a relaxed fit nor a skin tight fit (like the marmot orion), rather are a regular fit. However, I have had my first pair for about 18 months now and they have stretched out a bit and aren't as firm a fitting anymore (almost a little too baggy for my liking now), but that is to be expected i guess. Definitely worth getting and the Amazon UK price is comparable to what I paid in the US for my first pair.
