Bad Design/workmanship and not boat friendly
Very thin gauge, low grade stainless steel that is not hemmed and has sharp edges. There is no ignition switch so bring a long lighter of some kind. The mounting bracket requires two sockets or wrenches to tighten and has no indexing feature so you better have a helper on the boat to hold the grill in position while you muscle the bolt and nut. You have to really make it tight to keep the grill from spinning upside down to either the left/right or front/back. Plan on losing the hardware, grill grate, and your food overboard if you are not supper careful. The folks that designed this have cut corners every way possible to make this very difficult to use on the water if the grills is not permanently mounted to the boat.

Almost perfect
It's a great little grill for my pontoon boat. The linkage to the gas bottle is difficult to get use too and I'm always afraid it's going to fall off. I can't quite get the bolt to tighten up enough around the mounting rod. It does cook a mean sausage though!

Was happier with previous model owned
Had this grill on my prevuois boat on a rail mount and the mount worked so much better than this rod holder mount. Cannot make it stay on place for some reason, it always wobbles, no matter how much we tighten it. Maybe mine came out defective. Also gas gauge difficult to figure out direction in which it works as cannot see flame. It does not have hole to ignite flame, have to do from top, not very pratcical. Once you manage to ignite it and get the flame right, cooks well, even in high wind. You need a storing case, sold separately.

I recommend cooking steak in a cast iron pan
This gets hot. I recommend cooking steak in a cast iron pan. Get it HOT and add a bit of olive oil, then the steak. 5 minutes on one side 4 on the other and perfect. Depending on thickness...the regulator is hard to read as far as it being all the way on or all the way off. The lid also drips grease from it because its bigger than the bottom. Thats not the best design.

I really like this grill. I purchased this grill with the appropriate mount for my 36' sailboat. We considered other options, but this grill seemed to be the most common that I see at the marina. It has cooked up steaks, burgers and hamburgers just fine and lights easily. The grill will rattle a little bit while underway with motor where lid touches the body. To prevent this I tie a robe from the handle around the stantion. Plus, this gives me piece of mind that the grill is tie to the boat in case something would loosen up. I would also recommend the cover to go along with it.

Great grill. No drips.
Thickness rating? Nice and light so not sure why you would want something heavy and thick for a boat. Like the ease of clean up (we take it home as it is easy to move even when dirty). No drips which is good as we couldn't do a swing out arm.

Great Grill!
Works great on our boat! Clamps easily to the stern rail and holds well. It heats evenly and the outside stays fairly cool. I did end up getting an 8" extension to get it further out away from my seats and further out over my swim step. I would highly recommend it!

Very shiny accessory.
Very expensive for what it is. Had massive issues obtaining the correct regulator for the UK. Accessories horrendously priced and do not represent value for money. If I was going to entertain purchasing one of these, I would buy direct from Holland and ask for a discount. The seller that I bought from was no help and without extensive research I would have been left with a very shiny boat accessory that would be very nice to look at........but no good for cooking with!

Gut verarbeitet, Fehler im Detail
Der Grill wurde mir direkt aus den USA gesendet. Lieferung in der angegebenen Zeit - alles klar. Beim Auspacken kommt schon richtige Vorfreude auf den nächsten Segeltörn und das Grillen an Bord auf. Leider nur mit Verzögerung. Das mitgelieferte Ventil ist ein amerikanisches Modell und leider in Europa nicht zu gebrauchen. Es ist mir nicht gelungen eine passende Gaskartusche oder einen passenden Anschluss für eine Gasflasche zu finden. Tagelanges Suchen nach einer Lösung blieb vorerst ohne Erfolg. Erst nachdem ich bereits die Rücknahme beantragt habe, stieß ich per Zufall bei einem Yachtausrüster auf das richtige Ventil. Dieses bestellt und nach ein paar Tagen bekommen, probiert und es passt. Komisch, dass das Ventil auch von MAGMA stammt. Die Rücksendung wurde jetzt doch nicht mehr in Anspruch genommen da der Grill mit dem nachträglich gekauften Ventil einwandfrei funktioniert. Also bei Bestellung unbedingt darauf achten dass ein Ventil, welches für den Betrieb in Europa ausgelegt ist, mitgeliefert wird, damit keine weiteren Kosten entstehen. Das richtige Ventil kostet immerhin 49,- €uro.
