Feels very cheap
I wanted a flashlight to keep in the car for emergencies in case batteries ran out. I’m kind of scared of using it. I feel like it’s going to break.

Best in Class Crank Light for Situation Bag
This item is a true multitasker... in the dark it will give you light, whether or not it was put away charged, or carelessly left to run down. If you need music, or news, or weather/disaster info, the radio works brilliantly and runs a long time on a charge. If you need to charge your cellphone to make an emergency call... plug in. If the battery in the unit is flat, crank away, and eventually you'll get there. If you need an emergency USB backup battery for your phone, it functions as that too... just plug it in to charge. It's designed with a master power switch so that the battery doesn't drain to parasitics. There's two options for light... dim first and then bright. There's a pin for a lanyard attachment if that's your thing. The FM tuner is two-button push-to-seek, and the radio speaker can get nice and loud. And for some reason, there's a goofy siren. All in a pocketable unit, weighing in at under 6oz and about the size of two candy bars together. I looked at an array of similar options... some with solar, some smaller with just a generator and light. This had all the things I was looking for, and offered the ultimate flexibility of being able to crank up your cellphone or GPS if you've got the time and the patience. My one sole gripe is truly minimal- while the crank stowage is good, and the crank is comfortable to hold and turn, the detent that holds it in place isn't enough to keep it from popping out of its socket. This is easily solved by wrapping a hair-tie over the handle. Throw one of these in a situation bag in the back of your car with a Leatherman, BIC lighter, first-aid kit, compass, hat, gloves, mylar blanket, a roll of trail blazing, a canteen and some Powerbars, and you'll have peace of mind if you break down in the middle of nowhere and can't stay with your car. Or just keep it in your glove compartment for those times you want a light or a radio.

Long charge life, decent brightness. Not elegant, but great value.
Got a variety of crank flashlights and this stands out as the best. Stays charged for a long time after cranking, and doesn't take much to get it started. It has a lot of extra switches and buttons with mediocre bonus features, but the important part of being a hand crank flashlight it does very well at. Also, the glow-in-the-dark ring around the light is very useful for finding the flashlight. Overview of the mediocre bonus features: 1. It can charge via USB with a very short cable built into the device. That's better than having to crank it a bunch the first time you pull it out to use it all night. 2. USB output is barely enough to charge anything on a phone. Basically useless for phones. Bring a power bank instead of trying to use this thing to charge a device. (Verbatim sells a USB charger powered by AA batteries.) 3. Radio is a displayless push-button scanner and lacks an antenna, but can work in some situations. 4. The emergency siren is just annoying. Put a piece of tape over it or something so you don't press it by mistake. 5. There's also an on/off switch that disables the whole thing to prevent it from leaking charge. It does a great job at this, and will stay charged for a long time.

Highly recommended
I gifted Life Gear StormProof Crank Flashlight to my daughter. Her opinion is very durable, easy to use, lights are very bright and last a long time.

Nice features, but flashlight is weak.
I like the Siren feature and the fact that you can add some charge to your cell phone should it run out of juice. It can be charged via usb connection or by cranking. The radio works well. The weak spot with this unit is the flashlight. It is not very bright, but it would light your path. I think its a great accessory to keep in your car or for walking at night, in case of emergencies.

My son loves this!
I can’t begin to tell you how much my 10 year old son loved this as a gift! He loves cranking the flashlight and listening to the radio. This is a simple, yet fun stocking stuffer for kids or adults. Works great!

Radio gets quiet when sitting still
absolutely worth it for the price. Siren is only medium loud, a car alarm is way louder as an example. Radio doesnt get that loud either, and gets quieter when the device isnt moving around for some reason Lights are decent. all in all would recommend

It does what it says it's going to do and it's sturdy
We bought a few different crank flashlights to see what we liked best and this one took the top score. It's sturdy and everything on it works pretty good. The flashlight is pretty bright compared toe competition in it's price range and stays charged for weeks without use. After initially testing various options on the light I cranked it up and put it away for a couple weeks and then pulled it out to test it and it was still a good charge. Push the light button once for a dim light and a 2nd time for a bright light. I have not tested the siren, but, everything else works good.

Not exactly identical to other models
This is the second time Ive bought this type of flashlight. The first one I got was yellow (from jaycar) and was excellent. This one is not as good as that one but is slightly cheaper. This one has a slight problem with it's handle in that it takes a while for it to push back into it housing and you have to push it hard or repeatedly to do so. It just has a tiny nub holding it in and I can see this wearing out soon from constant use. The crank will still work fine but will have the handle dangling. The other issue I have is with the radio, it is very static-ey. I did a side by side comparison against my 'identical' yellow one and that one was crystal clear and actually picked up stations this did not. My only conclusion is that although this one looks exactly the same as other models it is not. Everything works though and got it on sale and makes a handy backup flashlight which is why I got it. But don't buy this if it is to be in your main kit. I can highly recommend the yellow jaycar model.

Works as expected, but 1 thing
The light worked well (there are 2 functions, low and high). The radio and tuning (channel change using + / -) worked well. Sound is clear, no static, volume can be adjusted slightly by turning the gear. The siren was loud and clear, worked well. The device charged when I was hand cranking it, indicated by the red light. Then I plugged it to see if the usb in/out charging will work, it did. Green light will show it's fully charged. Although there's a built-in usb cable, you need your own adapter to plug it in an outlet. I used my own (see pic). "but 1 thing" I tried to charge my phone using the hand-crank mobile charger feature. I followed the directions in the manual, and I was cranking for a good 6 minutes straight (timed it, rested maybe about 5 seconds throughout the 6 minutes, and going realistically 2 cycles per second...this is tedious lol), but my phone did not even increase by 1%. But, I know that the hand crank/wire are working well because my phone battery indicates that IT IS in charging mode. But the problem is, I'm not generating enough power to make any difference. The instruction says do 2.5 to 3 cycles per second, but that is not sustainable in my opinion. I got fatigued. I'm not even sure if it's possible at all to charge a phone this way. Oh and btw, you can't charge your phone by just plugging into usb output this device (even if this device is fully charged). It does not transfer like a power bank does. You can only charge your phone by hand cranking. But like I said, the hand crank did not charge up my phone even though my phone displayed that it is in charging mode. Overall though, I am satisfied with this product. I was disappointed by the hand crank charging feature though...

Compra necesaria a buen precio
