The kids love the gears, great use of imagination Do your research and look for bundles. Found these together much cheaper then individual.

Hard to assemble

Bought for our 5 year old nephew and there’s no chance of a child that age assembling these without an adult

3 and 5 year old love it

My 3 and 5 year old loved this toy so much I had to get more. It comes with a little booklet to show you what you could make but what them make from there imagination is amazing!

Great learning toy

The idea behind this product is genius and the end result robots are great with moving gears. My only issue is that the steps to build them included in the package are really limited and can be hard for follow for a child. Only 3 of the robots had instructions included, the rest of the build instructions are supposed to be on their website. Which means you have to waste you paper and to print it out or have you child using their screen for a toy that was supposed to cut down on screen time. We searched high and low on the website and couldn't even find any instructions. There's should be better detailed instructions included. Additionally some of the parts are really hard to separate once they have been put together even for an adult.

Huge hit

I got these for my almost 4 year old, who always wants to build robots and I’m surprised how much he loves them. We have followed the i instructions once but we just love using our imagination! I’m definitely going to buy a second set

We love this as a Gears add-on

It is a fabulous add-on ! Our first for our grandchild was the one with the red continuous belt ( tread ) which is a great add-on to our basic Gears set. These kits far-out-do Meccano for this 4-6 age-group and rival the next step up in Lego above basic. BTW, if you are using DUPLO with a child, have you tried adding Lego 6-post 3x2 rectangles to Duplo pieces? One of the best kept secrets of transitioning to Lego from Duplo. We also added some basic gears to Lego just before starting with a basic GEARS kit. Hope other customers are as happy as our grandchild. And look on-line for design ideas, instructions etc. IF we had known, we would have started with GRAND-kids and skipped the Teen levels !

Brilliant STEM building set ... good quality and great fun.

Learning Resources never fail to impress me with their range of products and this amazing robot building set is another fantastic product ... this time for ages five and over. It is a decent sized set containing 112 pieces and an instruction booklet. Included in this STEM building set are gears, treads, wheels, eyes and more, all pieces are brightly coloured. This being a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) set really helps your child get to grips with improving their skills in this area of learning as well as increasing their imagination. The booklet shows how to build three different robots step by step ... though of course there is nothing better than letting your child's imagination run away with itself. My six year old granddaughter has been having loads of fun with this set and to be honest so have I ... we've been taking it in turns to build many weird and wonderful robots. This set is really great fun as well as being educational. The pieces are robust and well made and although it may seem a bit pricey at £35 ... I think it's well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Not that fun

A bit confusing. My son loved watching his dad build it but then got bored and didn’t actually play with it after. Personally I wouldn’t recommend but that’s just from our experience

Lovely STEM-based robot building set for over 5s

I love this Robots in Motion Building Set for ages 5 plus, which arrives in a large cardboard box covered in cellophane. It has 116 pieces and the aim is to build your own robot, which develops a child's critical thinking and fine motor skills. The set includes a leaflet which has picture instructions on how to build three robots and you can go to the Learning Resources website for directions on how to make others, although you can go rogue and build one or more of your own imagination. This is a good STEM-based project and will show a child how gears turn, pulleys lift and robots move. The pieces are all large and robust, and look like they will stand the test of time (being built and rebuilt many times). I am pleased with this product and think the price point of around £35 is reasonable for the quality and educational value of this product. I am happy to recommend.
