Cheap Skates, But They Beat Rentals by a mile

The skates were on the cheap side, which suits me just fine as I never had the intention of being a pro skater; I am done with renting busted, rotten skates with bent blades and wonky boots. These skates have a lot of toe room; hard to make them snug but an easy fix is wearing thicker socks. My daughter is 10 and we are going to a lot of skating parties. I no longer abhor going as I have my own pair of decent skates. If you have Olympic dreams, you need to upgrade. But if you're a seasonal skater like me, just buy your own pair. You'll be much happier.

I really wanted to like these skates… but don’t

These have got to be the most uncomfortable skates I’ve ever worn. I don’t skate much anymore so didn’t want to spend much on a pair of skates. I guess you get what you pay for. They have lots of toe room which is good and I can wear a nice thick pair of socks in them. The problem is that they are not tall enough and bite into the top of my ankle when they are tightened. They are super stiff which I guess is normal for a pair of new skates but given the short ankle support it just makes them even more uncomfortable. I went to a skating party today and didn’t make it even 10 minutes in these skates. I intend to keep them but will be modifying them with some kind of ankle insert and hope for the best.

They came Thursday was expected to come Monday. The ups driver ring my bell and still came.upstairs. he didn't just throw it in the hall or on the floor in front of my door without even a knock like amazon drivers do. Awesome.
