Looks like corrective surgery will be needed to make the seat ...

This wooden seat is attractive, but the hardware does not fit my commode (a generic American Standard). The hinge flange is too long to allow the plastic feet under the seat to rest on the edge of the bowl rim. After three days, the hinge is already loose. Continued as made, I'm sure the seat will eventually destroy itself. Looks like corrective surgery will be needed to make the seat fit correctly.

Check color carefully before installation

This is the second seat purchased. First was Dark Oak and it was very good color and construction. Ordered Light Oak for a second powder room and the color is something close to Mahogany, not Light Oak. if I hadn't already destroyed the old seat I would have returned. Check color carefully when you receive, otherwise the construction for these seats are very good.

It's OK

Not bad but not great either. Looks nice and is very lightweight wood vaneer. I don't know why so many folks complain about this seat. I got it in Amazon Warehouse Deals and paid under $6. And that is about what it's worth. This is not solid wood...it's hollow. If it lasts a year I will be happy.

Not Very Good Quality

I purchased this toilet seat because it was the cheapest option I found with free shipping. The seat itself looks good. The wood and metal fixtures are decent; however, the way it was put together was shoddy. Immediately after installing it, I noticed that the hardware was canted. The seat kept falling off because whoever installed the metal brackets put them on crooked and so far apart that the bar in the middle couldn't reach both the left and right side. Rather than return it, I decided to re-install the hardware. I had to move it close to an inch in order to get the bar to hold the seat on. After about 5 months the screws tore out of the bottom of the seat when a friend was using the toilet. Long story short, the toilet seat looks okay, but the quality isn't good and it lasted for less than six months.

It looks better than we thought it would from the pictures. Solid wood, nice feel, looks great. What more can you ask?
