Minor tweaking and it's perfect

Looks great, works great, just had to rotate the hot and cold valves (not hard) on one of the two I ordered as they were upside down. Other than that, no complaints. Would buy again. NOTE: This is the whole assembly with the manifold and everything, not just the handles and spouts, so you'll need to open up your wall to replace the manifold with this new one if your piping isn't exposed already

Can't use this set

We bought the rubbed oil bronze tub and shower set last year, and by the time we were ready to install it, we found out it would be too expensive to remodel all the plumbing! Had to buy a different brand and now we are stuck with this set. Can't return it as it's been too long. Wish we'd known better. Live and learn!

Nice, Except for a Fatal Flaw

I ordered this shower set to replace one that was in our house when we bought it nearly 25 years ago. It was still functional, but we wanted to update the look and liked the idea of the central diverter in place of the spout diverter, which was quite corroded and had become difficult to operate. I selected the Kingston Brass unit based on my previous experience with a basin faucet I installed in the same bathroom, which has been flawless. Upon installing the new shower set, I noticed a leak from the diverter valve. Thinking I had a defective unit, I requested a replacement which soon arrived. After spending an hour swapping the return unit for the defective one, I turned it on only to find the exact issue with a dripping diverter. Since Amazon would not allow me to create a second return, I disassembled the entire faucet to see if I could diagnose the issue. What I discovered was that while the hot and cold water cartridges are brass and appear to be of good quality, the central diverter valve is all plastic and despite having several O-rings, it appeared to be leaking internally. After applying a liberal amount of silicone grease on all of the O-rings, I reassembled the unit yet again and crossed my fingers. The leak seems to have stopped, but I won't be surprised should it reappear. Fortunately, when it does leak, the amount is limited to the water contained in the shower head standpipe but since it drips right onto the tub spout, my concern is that the water would eventually destroy the finish. I really wanted to give this valve set a 5 star rating because of the ease of installation and I thought the quality exceeded the price. However, the decision by Kingston Brass to shave a few dollars off the cost of manufacture by using a plastic cartridge instead of brass in the central diverter valve is the Achilles heel of this unit and I would be hesitant to recommend it unless you just like to watch water leak from your new shower set.

Should know plumbing

I love this set. it works and looks great. That being said I have family members who know plumbing, and without them this would have been impossible, and I would not recommend this if you have little to no knowledge on plumbing. We had to buy and blow torch pipes for example! plus tools. you will need plumbing tools. real ones at that. Buy if you know what you're doing and plumbing situation is, otherwise do not at all.

Overall good but watch the Finish.

I did not see on the box where it said the pipe nipple for the faucet itself we're not included. I can understand this as measurements can vary but would have been nice to have been ready for it. The Finish seems to Mar rather easily. Has I had to push it through the wall existing grout but small scratches on it. So this is more a warning for anyone installing this.

Clean look, easy actions

I would suggest that unless you are confident with your plumbing ability, have a certified plumber install, less headache even though the cost is higher. I like this set, it looks good and functions well. Water flow is not over powering so I assume (although I can't find any written proof) that there is a flow limiter on it, however it does not make it come out as a trickle so good for those of you paying for your water by volume. Recommend.
