Pretty good but needs to be larger on the inside and needs a better lock
This product is very good at getting rid of unwanted cords. However, it is very small inside and will not accommodate more than one of those plugs that has a large base to it and some plugs with a large base may not fit at all. For example, I bought this product for use in my son's room where I have a plug-in video baby monitor and a plug-in baby swing. Both the video baby monitor and the baby swing have plugs with large bases (not just the normal small two-prong plug). I was only able to fit one plug into this plug cover and even then it just barely fit. The locking mechanism of the plug cover is not very good. It is just a very small piece of plastic that you press to release (see the tiny latch on the left side of the photo of the plug cover). I do not doubt that my 1 year old could manage to release this latch if he tried hard enough. Despite these problems, this is the best plug cover I have found for a baby's room. I definitely think this plug cover is better than nothing but I still do not trust it to really keep a toddler out for long due to the flimsy latch.

Fits large plugs/cords
We needed outlet covers that would be hard for our child to figure out, and also which would have enough space within the box to fit cords/plugs that are relatively large/thick (like from a surge protector and from a box air conditioner). Most of these large plugs could fit in this box, though sometimes with a slight squeeze, it has been doable nevertheless. Our 19 month old has started to become interested in the box, but has not yet figured out how to open it. Granted, we do steer him away when he starts investigating to slow down his learning in this area as much as we can. Because there's some pressing/squeezing that must happen at the same time to open it (it's usually a 2-handed proposition), I think it will be a little difficult for him to figure out how to open it. (In contrast, he figured out right away how to pull off the traditional basic kind of outlet plug covers.) This cover feels a little flimsy when you take it out of the box and screw it onto your outlet, but despite this, we have had no issues with durability yet, and they've been installed for almost a year. Not the best looking thing, but does the job. Overall we're happy with it.

Sturdy Design but Logo Upside Down!
The media could not be loaded. Logo is printed upside down and so when I installed it initially the cords came out the top. Rechecked packaging and realized the manufacturer printed their logo upside down as the cords in the picture are coming out the bottom. They seem sturdier than the other few brands I purchsed.

An effective plug cover
Easy for adults - tough for kids. I think most child proof items are tricky - they are either too difficult for adults to figure out (I had a toilet lock that I think maybe 1 out of 4 adults could open) or too easy for children (my daughter figured out she could slide her small arms in the gaps in the cabinets with the cabinet locks). This one is just right - simple enough for adults - not too obvious for kids. It held up well, my daughter who constantly unplugged the computer soon forgot that anything was even plugged in there - out of sight out of mind. Of course there is piece of mind that she won't be sticking her little fingers into the outlet but the real purpose for us was that it made it impossible for her to unplug what was plugged in. Installation - Easy, you simple remove the old outlet cover and screw this one on instead. You plug in your devices and then thread the cord through the bottom.

Plug Protector for behind the bed
It works for what we were looking for. We have an outlet behind a bed and wanted a cover to protect the plug from being knocked out partially and completley. It screws onto the outlet using the existing screw holes. It has an attached swinging door. You have to push on the lever and depending on how you install it, you will slide up or down. The cords come out either the top or bottom, depending on how you install it. There is a cord wrap inside. We installed upside down so the cords would come out the bottom.

Absolutely GREAT!
Front he time our daughter could reach an outlet, no cord was safe. We put plugs in all of the unused outlets, but the used ones were really tough. We had to continually relocate her to keep her from the plugs. When she started cruising and walking, she was able to get back to them about as quick as we could move her, so we got this. This item is GREAT! It has a wrap for shortening loose cord length, and allows for a number of different plug styles to be used with it. The cover actually replaces the standard outlet cover, so it holds on tight to the wall, and stays in place. When you need to access the plug, it's easy to pop and rotate, without allowing the baby to get into it. It has saved us from having to repeatedly relocate our daughter to avoid the outlets, allows us to be confident that she is not going to into a live wire, and is a great way to keep the TV or other items from being unplugged while in use. Absolutely a 5 star item.

Very large, but works PERFECTLY!
I was in desperate need of outlet covers to stop my 19 month old twins from playing with plugs at all times of the day. I read some reviews and decided on these. The price was right so I bought 3 for our great room. When I opened the box I was surprised by the SIZE of these things! They are so much bigger than I expected. They stick out from the wall several inches. I wasn't sure I'd like the look of them on the wall, but I installed anyway to test them out. The next morning when the babies woke up, and came out and noticed them, they were curious. They went over to touch them, tried to pull them off, of course couldn't, AND HAVE LEFT THEM ALONE EVER SINCE! That's it! Nonissue! I am so pleased with these covers. Huge or not, they are perfectly functional. I don't even notice them anymore. They just blend into the wall. I'm a very happy customer:)

Does its job, but could be better.
Update: still working just fine. But out of sight out of mind is the key from some children. So if it's just out of sight you need. Try taping a cleaned out butter/margarine container over the plug for a while. It may save you having to buy a device while that child grows. I have this product in review. But the kids haven't touched the device or wires since. As its been out of sight out of mind. So does it work... assumingly so. This works well. Unlike most in the pictures I mounted this with the cords coming out the bottom just fine. I have the newer style rectangular plugs, not the round looking sockets from the 60s. I took the screws out of the plate and used the top and bottom holes in this device. they line up perfect for me. Clearly others have had issues if you read the reviews. But this works well for me. I have an active 1 year old that liked to pull the plugs out on one particular plug. So I ordered this. Works well. What can be better about it. Well if you have a power bar plugged in, they typically have thicker cords, so it takes a bit of a tighter bend than normally to make it fit in and out of this unit. But I managed just fine. If you have a plug with an angled head or a larger head it may not fit properly inside this unit. But for most normal horizontal plugs, its fine. Could the plastic be a bit better? Yes. A hair thicker and with more of a flexible type of plastic. This is the type of plastic that will become brittle in 5 years. The kind that would explode into many pieces if dropped in the cold. But. again, it works for me!

Great product!
Great product! Looks a little silly on your wall when installed (its a large white box afterall), but it does the job! My 10 month old twins are little houdinis who have managed to figure out every baby proofing object, including pulling outlet covers off, so we got these to keep them out of the outlets. So far so good - this might be one of the only baby proof objects that my girls haven't figured out. Best of all, we can have the outlets in use without worry that they'll pull the plug out and play with it! Works with both the standard outlets and decorative outlets, which is nice. However, if you have a large plug (like the ones that come with some electronics), they will not fit in the box. The baby monitor plug only just fit in.

Plug Cover Safely Secures In-Use Outlets from Curious Little Hands
Our daughter's room is small and wherever we could put the crib there was going to be a wall outlet nearby. In order to use the outlets close to her bed more safely, I bought this plug cover. The installation is simple enough. Unscrew your wall plate for your current outlet and replace with this unit. The door/enclosure snaps off and on to make installation easier. Once installed, just plug in, use the wrap, close the door, and slide it down to latch it in place. The lock isn't very strong, but it is an effective deterrent and I doubt that a toddler would figure out how to open it without giving up first. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that it doesn't account for outlets that stand out further than the wall. Our house is old so the outlet boxes are not all 100% flush where they should be. So the decora outlet sticks out a few millimetres from the wall. A decora wall plate still covers the area around the outlet fine, but this plug cover sits a millimetre or two off from the wall instead of being flush. I think that standard style outlets would be fine but decora outlets will have a slight gap if they're not perfectly installed. Still, this product makes me feel better about having an outlet so close to the crib. There's no way my daughter will be able to try to play with the outlets now even if shes tries.

Useless when cords have to go upward
Originally loved these things, so much so that i bought a 2nd after a couple weeks. However now I'm less then impressed. If you need the cord going upward, like we did for a baby camera, you mount them upside down. By doing this however, now the cover opens by sliding downward instead of up. This is problematic because my 1 year old (with some help from gravity) can open this cover in seconds exposing the outlet. He used to just love unplugging electrical cords but now he finds likes playing with the cover as if its a toy so we have to take them out of his room and find something else.

Nice idea. For my toddler, it doesn't work
I like the idea of this product. I had a fan plugged into my toddlers room that they kept unplugging so I bought this. Within a couple of nights my toddler learned how to open it and unplug the fan. It's a hot night tonight, so I decided to place the fan in the window and plug it in (unfortunately there isn't another plug I could use for the fan). I just had to go into the room plug the fan back in, and close the "plug protector".. I'm not pleased at all with the product.
