Champion Mamba

Understable ???? and fun

I’ve been playing for a decade or so, and mostly avoided highly understable discs (discs with a turn of -2 to -5). Commonly pros use disc stats with a turn/fade of -1/3 respectively, so I tended to stick with stats similar to that. The mamba has a turn/fade of -5/1, which I would normally avoid like the plague. “Disc is great for beginners,” many reviews state. No thanks. But to my surprise, understable discs that maintain a constant glide on their turn have found themselves a place in my bag. I can control them easily with sidearm flicks, they don’t turn into rollers unless released on a huge anhyzer, and can reach across a football field without any fade, just a mild left or right turn granting an impressive distance. Aced a 200’ hole with it last week, I think the mamba is a permanent disc in my bag.

Great disc...

I'm relatively new to disc golf and needed a new driver. It's my opinion that products such as this are completely subjective. That being said, if you're familiar enough of how you throw, you buy very specific discs that can accommodate you. This disc was quite an improvement, and most importantly, predictable. Build quality is good, but will get cut up easily on impact of a hard object like a tree. I would recommend. If you need help on choosing the right flight rating system for what you're throwing for, I would advise reaching the web to see what the individual ratings are for.

Hate getting random colors

You would think at this point you can order certain colors or weights. Inova been around forever and still can't offer it to customers.

Excellent turnover driver

RHFH dominant player. This is a great disc for long, slow, turnover lines. Finishes with a slight fade.

Farthest disc I can throw

I always give this disc a little kiss before launching it into the unknown. I love the understability; gives it an excellent S-curve on a flat release, or a very steady path on a hyzer. My go-to disc for long distance drives. Absolutely love this disc.

Great. Try it. Reliable right-turn drives

Mamba's are just awesome. Understable, so not for headwinds, but they reliably tack right without digging in for a cut-roll at the end. A good driver for those of us who don't have both a back-hand and a side-arm to switch between to make right bend dog-legs. A great disc for the not-quite-beginner who is starting to eye the faster speed discs - the right turn and left fade end up as a long gliding straight-ish drives at moderate arm speed. The champion plastic will last longer before the disc will beat-in to completely understable for roller possibilities.

Came damaged.

Damage on arrival, seller had to see damage when packing. Top and bottom on both sides has what appears to be grinder indents. Would definately effect flight characteristics. Not impressed!
