Good and Bad

Once installed it seems to be a decent ceiling fan/light. Getting there is another story. Directions are fine. The issues start with the mounting bracket. My home happened to have a smaller than typical junction box in the ceiling, it had a screw base of 2 3/4", the mounting bracket minimum was 3". The bracket does provide an alternate of 2 screws you can secure into the ceiling, assuming you're right on a joist. I took option C and simply cut the slots to accept screws at 2 3/4". Passed the first challenge. Put the motor into the mounting bracket and it then called for 2 screws to secure the motor...those screws were not in the box. Fortunately I have 6/32 screws and was able to find a couple that fit perfectly. Not everyone will be so lucky. The rest went together fine, it's quiet, one self stick magnet to balance the blades and we're good. Had it been an electrician or handyman installing it, it might have cost the homeowner more for say a new junction box or a less than what I consider a secure mounting, might have even been a delay while they go to the nearest hardware store for 2 missing screws. Small annoyances for me because I'm handy and can improvise, big headache or more costly for someone not so handy.

Beautiful fan

Beautiful fan, straightforward install, and very quiet. I have a different brand wireless switch with dimmer and fan speeds, and it works seamlessly with it. The mounting bracket that comes with the fan allows for the switch receiver to slide in. Colors - the metal is a very dark grey pearl, almost black. The reversible blades are either light grey washed look or a darker walnut with neutral grey undertones (metal color in the close-up pic is overexposed - it is darker).

Extremely Pleased With The Quality

While I would consider this a fairly low-end ceiling fan, the quality seems to be excellent. Very well made. Good instructions. Well engineered for ease of assembly. All around, I am really pleased with the quality!

Perfect fan. Very pretty and it matches the other fans in my house that are from another company. Very quiet. I love that it included the light bulbs!

Quality Quiet Fan

Replaced a standard ceiling light in a guest bedroom. This fan looks great in the room, bronze matches the decor. The lights are very bright (7w LED bulbs included) compared to a filtered glass look. The fan is dead quiet - you can only hear air movement, which is why I stick to Hunter (have 3 in total). The installation is a breeze, if your electrical box is already fan rated - adding support is the hard part and I had to add supports from the attic. To make this purchase perfect, it would have been nice to have a simple remote included. Note: You cannot run this off a dimmer switch - the fan will hum and the LED lighting will probably not work properly during fan operation. This is not a defect in the fan. If you have a dimmer switch, replace with an on/off type switch.

Beautiful and quiet

I needed to add a ceiling fan to my bedroom and knew that the Hunter brand of ceiling fan was made of quality and reliability, thus I purchased the product. The installation was more difficult than I had expected, as I was a former electrician for 16+ years, but after several hours of struggling to install the fan, I finally completed the job. I noticed several things about the ceiling fan, the quality and workmanship that went into the making of the fan was evident at first glance and feel of the unit. And once turned on, the unit is so quite I can scarcely notice the fan if on other than noting the ever so slight breeze from the fan as it is currently in the "downdraft" mode. The air in the bedroom is no longer hot and stifled but is moving ever so quietly with the fan running. This is a great product and one I would highly recommend.
