It is what was needed to fixy pool pump
Old spring rusted into pieces. It was hard to install, had to push down and insert pin. Took two men to install spring

Exact part for Variflo Diverters!
Exactly part needed for our Hayward Variflo. But NOT easy to install! Watch YouTube video before installing. We did with 2 people. 1 pushed down top with both feet to push coil while other tapped in the pin. Need to gently use your feet and body weight. Note this does not come with the needed washer. If yours is damaged or missing you need to buy that part as well.

Corroded away in one year
This spring was in use for almost exactly one year. It corroded away to almost nothing.

Even springs wear out.
Ordered as a replacement for an older Hayward SP715 multiport valve. It was fairly easy to install using a pair of 12 inch quick clamps and a drift punch. The old spring was a bit more than 1/8 of an inch shorter than the new one after who knows how many years of service. The new spring appears to have solved the issue I was having with DE blowing into the pool, I literally replaced every o-ring and all the grids in the filter system and was still having issues, and fixed the dragging over the spider gasket I was experiencing when changing positions on the selector.

Save a lot and order it on Amazon. My unit runs like new now.
Thanks to the spring my unit handles like a brand new one. My old was was so rusted out that I could barely turn it. Ordered the spring along with a handle and the unit now handles like a brand new one. Save yourself a lot of money by doing the work yourself. It's not that hard to be honest and the results are phenomenal. Don't forget to lube everything up prior to re-assembly. Thanks to Amazon, I paid 1/4 what the local pool company shop wanted for it. Love Amazon!!

For now everything looks good and the price was reasonable.
The spring and o-rings that I bought were indeed Hayward factory original parts and the fit. I will not know whether they stopped the leaks in my diverted valve until the coming spring when I start up our pool system, it all looks good for now.

Beast of a Spring!
If you know an Olympian weight lifter who can compress the spring while you push in the pin then you’ll be fine. If you don’t... use two clamps on opposing sides. Forget about standing on it while you hammer in the lock pin, believe me. Final result, handle turns like new.
