Great Comal Replacement

My old flat pan (Comal) used for warming up tortillas and making some other things finally got replaced by this new one. I looked long and hard and finally settled on this one. I'm glad I did some looking at the reviews before buying another. There are so many options, and even some that pose using the term 'Comal'. But they are not. This product was not cheap aluminum piece of metal coated with Teflon. It is very solid and distributes heat really well. I use it now all the time and love that I don’t see how it can possibly warp…ever. Looking forward to many years of usage. Excellent.

Not Dishwasher safe

I like that the handle is high and keeps your hand safe from the heat when you touch the handle. It is good for crepes, dosa, making hot sandwiches.

I like the pan

I like the pan, it sits pretty flat on my burners and the surface seems nice. It's solid construction and makes food well. I will be careful not to overheat it due to the reviews I read (but I would have done that anyway since non stick is very toxic at high heat).

Quality product

At first, to be honest, i thought this is little bit too much on price for dosa tawa. However, once i ordered after seeing many positive comments from fellow users, I had gone ahead and ordered it. After the receipt of this product, my perception completely changed and understood that why this product is priced high because of such super quality. Really good to use, easy to make dosa and chappathi. Heat is evenly distributed. Little bit heavier; but its worth a buy.

I've had no luck in cooking dosas on a large cast iron skillet. I wasn't really looking for a tava until I found this, at substantial discount, while trolling Warehouse Deals. It comes with a wooden spatula, a scrubber and a recipe book. I'm a rank amateur when it comes to dosas , though it's a favourite snack I've seen made and eaten many times in India. This tava does an excellent job of cooking my messy efforts and the dosa slides right off when crisp. Practise , practise! This is a simple, quality product. Coincidentally, I have a Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker which I used and brought home from India 21 years ago. It's been in constant use since then and is still on its original lid seal, so I'm confident in the quality of Hawkins products.

Works Very Well!!!

The pan is able to heat a variety of food without producing large amounts of smoke or mess. Even melted cheese is easy to clean off afterwards. I have been using it for a few months now, and there is no sign of warping or damage. I am quite happy with the product!
