Perfect
This ash box cover is exactly what I needed to totally close of the ash opening on the floor of my fireplace. It fit perfectly and completely closes off the ash / clean out opening.

Not Really Forever
I bought this because I no longer use the ash dump at the bottom of my fireplace. Rather than paying a fireplace provider to cover the dump with brick I thought this would be a less expensive alternative. It is a less expensive alternative however after only a couple fires the cover started to deform. It's relatively easy to bend it back into shape but my concern is eventually it will get so deformed that it will no longer serve the purpose. The only way it will stay flat to the bottom of the firebox is if the feet for the fire back are on it. If I didn't have a fire back with feet this would not stop embers from dropping into the ash dump. Yes, it is stainless but might be better made of cast iron to stop deformation. If I can find one made of cast iron this will get tossed.

Very sturdy
I live in an old house and my ash dump doors fell apart. I don't use my fireplace anymore, but didn't want to leave the gap uncovered. Of course I couldn't find the exact door size I needed, so I opted for this cover. It was long and wide enough, but the brackets underneath that keep it in line were a little too long. My son used a Dremel to cut about an inch off each end of the brackets. Edges are very sharp. It now fits very well.

Great way to cover an ash dump you're not using
This product was a great buy for the price — stainless steel. I wanted to cover an ash dump that I do not use in a fireplace that I do use. it fit perfectly. It's much easier to scoop out ashes now.

Gets the job done
The media could not be loaded. Nice material. Appears to be standard size, or at least it fit for me. Edges could have been deburred a bit better.

Well Built and Stainless Steel
Easy install. I did have to open the hole as little more to make fit, since this is around 28 years old. Works.

Caveat Emptor Let the buyer beware.
This is an overpriced pressed tin not an durable product in my opinion: a waste of money. It will not last more than a season or two. So disappointed by the cheapness of the product. Nobody should order this. If you want to waste 50 dollars, sent it to me.

Simple design, required minor adjustments
Simple, metal fireplace cover...nothing special...it does its job. Due to the alignment of the bricks within the floor of my fireplace, I had to make some bends and cuts in the metal brackets to ensure the cap sits flat and snug against the brick.

horrible construction , qualité très ordinaire.
Impossible d'installer sans colle a mortier . D'autres options sont plus simple et moins cher.
