Filters dust

These are very poor filters.

They barely filter anything. I have gone from dusting once every 10 days to twice a week. My house feels so dirty. I will be throwing the rest away and ordering better filters.

Rip off

Ordered and paid for a 4-pack, only received 2 filters. Filter material is very thin, doesn't trap as well as expected from Filtrete brand. Very disappointed, won't be ordering again.

Filters Fit And Work; A Big No To The App

Product: Filtrete 20x20x1 Furnace Air Filter MERV 8 MPR 700, Dust, Pollen, & Pet Dander, 4-Pack (exact dimensions 19.88x19.88x0.78) We have a lot of sinus problems in our house. It’s an older house, we have a cat and we live in an area with a lot of tree/plant pollen. I’ve become more diligent in the type of HVAC filters we use and make sure to change them as we should. It’s better for us and our new HVAC system. I use anywhere between a MERV 8 and MERV 13. It really just depends on how much outdoor pollutants are going on at the time. These filters fit well in our intake vent. They actually fit a bit tighter than some other brands I’ve used, which I like. I don’t feel like air is making its way around the filter. These are a bit different with the braces (plastic and not cardboard) facing out and not in. You just need to pay attention to the airflow arrow to make sure you are putting them in correctly. There are a lot of specs printed on the filter, some of which I have no idea what they mean. They do tell you what percentage of particles is filtered by size. What is missing on the filter is a place to write the date you put the filter in. They want you to install an app to track your filter use. That is a big NO from me. It just rubbed me the wrong way and seemed invasive. I’ll just write the date on the front of the filter somewhere and set a reminder in my calendar. Thank you very much. They do filter the air based on how dirty to filter becomes. They are definitely better than the cheap fiberglass filters and washable filters we’ve used in the past.

Filtrete 20x20x1 AC Furnace Air Filter, Merv 8 MPR 700, Dust, Pollen, & Pet Dander, 4-Pack (exact dimensions 19.88x19.88- These are quality filters as I would expect from 3M. I haven't been buying the name-brand filters due to the price but I can surely tell the difference between these after switching. They are quieter than the ones I was using which I didn't understand until I tried using these how they could affect the noise. They have also reduced the dust in the house. I am starting to see the point in spending a bit more on my filters. Pros- Noticeable difference in air quality. Less dust is the most obvious. Quieter. I can't explain why but they do make a difference with my AC. Nothing major but it does help. Last longer than the budget ones. Again it's not a massive difference but I can get an extra week or two out of these where my off-brand ones seem to need replacing far more often. Cons- Price is the only thing. They are on the pricey side for AC filters. Overall, these are certainly good quality filters. The more I use them the more I am coming around to possibly switching to them from now on. I definitely shop for this type of product based on price point but the fact that these last a little longer and improve the air quality has me more inclined to pay up for them. Still not fully sold but definitely something I am considering now. I do think they are worth trying at least. I am a fan just not of the price.

Good value

They fit well, filter as they should and the four-pack allows me to change them out each month while only having to reorder 3 times a year.

Quality filter with a stronger bezel than most. Effective for average situations.

I normally buy Filtrete filters with a higher MERV rating for daily use. When I'm doing construction in the house I usually use off brand filters I can throw away after the project (so I'm not clogging an expensive filter). I have stopped that practice as my air handling unit tends to warp cheaper filters under pressure and dust gets past the filter. These filters have a good strong bezel and sit perfectly flat without distorting in my air handling unit's frame. I haven't notice a significant reduction of air quality or accumulation of dust using these vs the higher rated Filtrete filters I normally use. In conjunction with my handling unit's UVC sterilizer, this filter keeps my house fresh and dust, allergen, and odor free. Those with respiratory issues or allergies may want to buy a filter with a higher MERV rating, but for most, this filter is fine.

Multipack of air filters

I always forget to buy air filters, so when I do think about it, I prefer to stock up. I have used Filtrete brand of air filters for several years and have always been pleased with them. When I change the filters each month, it is apparent that the filter has stopped a lot of dust, pet hair, and who knows what else from being circulated into the ducts. I plan to continue using this brand of filter since subscribe and saves keeps me from having to remember to buy filters when I'm at the store.
