So far so good
I lost two anchors two days in a row. I used a heavy stainless carbinener to attack to those and can only assume that the rings either snapped off or opened causing my anchors to remain at the bottom of the lake. I purchased this 4lb downrigger ball because I needed a anchor fast, wasnt willing to spend a lot in fear of losing another, and figured I could attach to both eyelets. So far it's held up great. I'm using it on a low profile anchor wizard to anchor my kayak and it works perfectly.

I use this downrigger ball in my kayak. I noticed the plastic coating comes off if you bang the bottom with it. Other than that the 4 lb ball is perfect ...

Well worth the money
Read some not so good reviews.....received my downrigger ball and it has good coating, not much larger profile than lead balls and has solid eyelets. For the price I will buy again. The 12#downrigger weight was actually like 11.8#, so close enough. Full disclosure* I use to use a homemade weight that was cement that someone used a large can as the mold that weighed roughly 10# and that worked better than I would have thought and caught a lot of kings with. It was my backup weight that one of my friends grandfather's made. After loosing a ball I was forced to deploy it and used it until I lost it a season later on a rock pile.....

Kayak anchor
Bought to use as kayak anchor. Didn’t want something that would dig into the mud and be difficult to haul up from bottom. This worked to keep me stationary in light winds so I could concentrate on fishing. Stronger winds still pushed me if bottom was hard and smooth. Fit perfectly in my cup holder molded in kayak.

These things quit working in The Rocks.
These downrigger weights are perfect for getting your bait deep and to the fish. They stop working in the Rocks of Lake Tahoe.

Goes Down and Straight
Works great. It runs straight and it has held up well after being used for about 4 fishing trips. It did come with a pretty good gouge in the coating. Not a big deal, its going to get banged up as I use it, but I can't give something 5 stars that comes damaged. I would recommend, best bang for your buck I have seen on Amazon for downrigger weight.

10 pound downrigger ball
It’s a ten pound down rigger ball exactly like described

Underweight - 4lb was more than 3 Oz light or about -5%
I am not expecting medical grade precision on the weight of these, I did think that more than 5% light seems a bit much. It will certainly affect blow-back when working with these smaller and lighter weights. That said - coating looks very good with zero blemishes, so certainly good value for money.
