Great until it isn't

They say to use 16' pieces of line, but I found keeping them under 8 makes it much easier to keep it loaded. This model head is not automatic wind. You have to manually turn the bump head to get it to wind, but is still much easier than winding spools and trying to install them. For some reason, mine will no longer let me install line, so I have to either play 2 hour investigation game or buy a new one. I hope they develop the self feeding head that is on the higher price trimmers for the power head as it works much better.

If the bolt you mount this head on is spindles/ multi pointed star like this is the replacement for you if the bolt has flat side you want the 1530 a HUGE improvement over the original easy install

This is the Correct Replacement part for the Ego STA-1500

Fyi, this the the correct counter-clockwise replacement head for the 15” string trimmer STA-1500. The ego website lists a second part number for another replacement, but that is a clock-wise spool model that is unusable on this trimmer. Even though it’s called “Rapid Reload”, it is not for the newer power reload models that spool by pushing a button. Kit contains a complete assembled head with all parts including the splined base piece. 1 coiled string is included separately. Easy to replace with the old unit. Just make sure to use a pin to lock the rotation of the head so you can release the retaining screw. I placed the trimmer in a vise with padded jaws. Important: This is a left-hand thread, so you go clockwise, as if tightening it, to loosen it. I used a 5/16” drill bit’s blunt end in the base for the locking pin. You’ll see the access hole on the side of the metal base. Only downside, I wish this part was more durable, as it starting falling apart after a dozen uses.

Easy install and works

My original rapid reload trimmer head broke after bumping on grass for line feed (just under 5 years of use). Found out it's not covered by the 5 year warranty from EGO so order this. As others have said it feels heftier and thicker than the original. The install was super easy and explained well in the instructions. I've only tested for about 10 seconds in my garage so time will tell how durable it is.

Great upgrade from original trimmer head

To begin, I'm biased because I love EGO's products and platform. Their only hindrance is their customer service, they need more resources or a quicker turnaround for their customer's questions. The trimmer head that came with my string trimmer attachment for my POWER+ POWER HEAD lasted a few years but wasn't very strudy. It took me a while to find the right replacement since the model numbers are so similar, however, once I found it and installed it, I am very satisfied with the upgrade. The plastic appears to be denser than the original, which should help with the durability. The $40 price tag was a bit high but longevity will determine if the cost matches the value.

Pezzo di ricambio uguale all'originale

Accessorio di ricambio utile. Leggero e pratico con ricarica rapida del filo. Per me, l'unica nota negativa, risulta essere il disco di protezione, svincolato della testa "batti e vai": a volte prende un giro falsato dalla testina e va in risonanza, vibra e fa rumore. Non so, forse è un piccolo difetto di progettazione (anche il pezzo originale lo fa). Non inficia il suo utilizzo.
