way too tight

I'm a size 12M and have always had a perfect fit in the past with Ecco's in a size 46 (12/12.5). Not so with these GTX Chukkas. It's a struggle getting the foot in and it's tight along the top and the side of the foot. The quality of the shoe itself is top notch. Too bad as I really wanted these to work.

very nice, but not as comfortable

Just got this shoe, so these are very initial impressions: Not as comfortable as my Ecco boots upon first blush. Hopefully this will change. Sizing is close to true and same as my other Ecco's. Maybe a tad smaller. It looks very nice, seems well made, and appears as if it will be waterproof as advertised, though haven't tested. And like others have said, the laces are the wrong look for shoes, and it is suprisingly hard to get these shoes on and off, something I've never even thought about before. If there were plenty of other waterproof chukkas on the market, I'd keep looking. But there are not so this may be the best I get.

Too small - inconsistent with typical Ecco sizing

Too small compared to other Ecco shoes of the same size. I have purchased several Ecco shoes over the years, and have greatly appreciated the consistency of the sizing. This is the first pair I've purchased where the sizing is too small, and it's not even close. Order a size up.

Good shoes but too small

These shoes look great, but unfortunately they are too small. I wear Ecco size 12 and this is the first time the shoes are too narrow and uncomfortable. I tried 3 times, but it hurt too much, too bad

Never walk around a puddle again if you don't want to.

I can walk through puddles with these, no problem. We have been through such a long drought that when it started raining recently suddenly there were problems. I saw my foolish co-worker break out a small plastic bag with a dry pair of socks in them, and I realized there's a good idea somewhere in there. I needed a water proof barrier to keep my socks dry, while not having to carry them around like a complete dork and then have to change socks in the middle of the day. Gore-tex will keep my socks dry, and unlike a plastic bag, it will let my feet breathe. Sometimes when I walk through a puddle, I think I feel my feet getting wet but it is all in my head, because if I take these shoes off my feet will be dry. It's very nice, worth the extra buck. Gore-tex is not good when it is hot and dry outside, which it has been here for so long that I forgot how much I needed it when it started raining more seriously lately. I already had these in brown and ordered this pair after the rain became much worse. I ordered them in the usual European size as the other Eccos I have bought, all of which fit very nicely.

Es mas chico de lo normal

Tengo otros Ecco de la misma talla, y este modelo es mas chico, termine usandolo sin la plantilla y quedo mejor. Lo bueno: es ligero, y contra el agua funciona bien. Al final quede contento con la compra.

Perfect for Traveling Europe

I was planning a trip to Europe, and wanted a good travel shoe, something nicer than tennis shoes, that would be comfortable for lots of walking. I'm heavy, 210 pounds, but fit, and have slightly arthritic feet and need orthotics. I've had to be particular about selecting footwear. I've been wearing Ecco work boots for years - I have tried out other footwear, but nothing else has been anywhere near as comfortable. I especially liked that there was no break-in required. My trip was only a week away, and I really needed comfortable footwear, without any needed break-in. I ordered three different models of Ecco dress/casual boots, and I tried them all on in my living room. These were the clear winners. They were the only footwear I took on my trip. We traveled Paris, Amsterdam, and the Normandy beaches, and spent a lot of time walking and on our feet. They worked especially well on Paris' cobbled streets. The Gore-Tex is great: in Amsterdam, we got lost, and ended up walking over an hour through pouring rain - and my feet stayed dry. I highly recommend these boots.

I love Ecco shoes

I love Ecco shoes. My entire shoes collection is made of Ecco (sandals, hiking etc.). I got these on sale, and that is even better.

Great boots however the picture makes the boot look more darker and was disappointed that the ankle support was not higher like the older version which really supports the ankle. However its still a good pair of boots, hope the rubber soles will last as other pairs have not lasted as long as all my other shoes.

Exactly what i expect from ECCO, because I have few different types ECCO shoes. Quality shoes, exact size, very good materials. Feel very comfortable.

Highly recommend

Fits just a fraction smaller than most (I went up half a size and it was perfect). The fit around the heel feels a little... odd, at first. Loose perhaps, like it's going to fall off. However, having worn for a few months now, I think these are some of the nicest shoes I've owned. Extremely comfortable. They never slip off. The leather is supple yet durable. And they're waterproof. The way they are going so far, I will definitely buy them again.
