Good spacers, but buy the correct set for the newer gate models!!

Good spacers, do the job. Should be included with the gate though! But important note: please be aware these spacers do not fit the newest gate models! I have model L820NN (purchased December 2015) and these spacers were recommended by Amazon. But, spacer A fits the pull side of the gate, and on spacer B the holes don't match up with the side you close into (see picture)! I called Dreambaby and they were very nice about sending me the right ones (labeled A and X, not B)-but be aware that these won't fit the new gates!

Shouldn't need to pay but it works

Ok so these worked well but I have a low rating for value as it should have been included in the gate. I know that sounds picky but at $75 for a gate you should include the hardware needed. They do work though.

Would give 5 stars but I think these should be included with the baby gate. Most people have some sort of base molding so it would make sense to include these and not charge separately.

works well, just a bit pricey

these work well, but they are a little pricey and frankly, should be included with the gate itself. i would venture a guess and say well over 90% of houses would need this as they all have base boards. having to order this, while not a huge deal, is really just an annoyance. that being said, they are extremely easy to use and come with all the hardware needed to install it with the gate.

Use only with Dreambaby Gates

These work great for the Dreambaby gates, but these DO NOT work with other gates as some people suggest. After learning that fact we found a much easier and cheaper solution of getting a piece of baseboard from the hardware store (they gave it to us for free) and attach that to the wall for even installation.

works as intended

Provides space to install the baby gate level with the ground if drilling into the molding at the bottom portion of the gate. Buying this from Amazon was much cheaper than buying directly from the baby gate manufacturer.

Make sure you're covered

Glad this was suggested with the gate. It kept installation easy and quick. No frustration with having to wait longer for shipping after finding out it wasn't included.

Meh.

Ok, but ideally should come with lengthened screws for the price. Note you only get two top spacers, one for each end. If I had to order it again I would probably just use a paintable piece of wood instead. The screws run through the side of it instead of through the midpoint, so the whole thing wants to pry off the wall.

A good idea but expensive.

These spacers do exactly what they say and allow the gate to be hung where there is a skirting board or similar present. They come in two parts to allow for variations in thunckness which is good. However they are essentially just a couple of bits of molded plastic and are, in my opinion, overpriced. That said if you do want to mount the gate over skirting then they are essential. These were easy to put up and the whole instalation only took a few minutes. Given the that these were bought on top of the near £50 for the gate this is not a cheap stair gate. Just as a caution as I am not reviewing the gate itself but it is not sturdy and our puppy (11 weeks old) shredded it the second time we used it.

Save your money and use a bit of wood instead!

Considering these are sold to go with the dream baby retractable stair gate, I wasn't impressed. The drill holes didn't line up and if you use the the pre drilled holes in the spacers to fix it to the wall, the stairs gate does sit flush on it because the screw heads stick out. I checked online for additional videoed instructions, as well as following the instructions that came with the gate and spacers, but just could not see how they could be fitted better. I can normally fathom most instructions, but to get this to work I had to drill holes through the plastic spacer. To top it off they weren't thick enough for our skirting boards and so, I am going to send back my second set and use a painted bit of wood instead! I would definitely say save your money and use a piece of wood instead!

Ours are greyer than the ones in the picture and match the fittings for the stairgate perfectly, looking very neat. Could have used a block of wood for the same purpose but this saved the bother of cutting it to size, drilling holes in the right places, sanding rough edges etc and made fitting the stairgate quick and easy. The spacers consist of 2 layers so, as we have quite shallow skirting boards, we were able to use just the top layer to get a perfect fit. The packaging says detailed fitting instructions for the spacers come with the stairgate but they don't, however it's pretty obvious how to fit them once you get them out of the pack. The wall plugs that come with the gate are pretty rubbish though-would recommend getting some better ones and using the appropriate sized drill bit for them-the instructions say you need a 4mm masonry drill bit but this isn't big enough as the screws are 4mm so need a bigger bit to make space for the wallplugs too.

Do the job just fine.

These worked a treat. Everything you need is included and they're relatively easy to fit. I didn't have any issues with the quality of them. Just to confirm, you only need 1 packet of these to fit 1 gate. I ordered 2 and ended up sending one back. They're a little expensive for what they are, though that said, they 'work' and there are no other out of the box options. Having said that, it was a shame they weren't just included with the gate given the price of it!

Needs more spacing options

Considering you have to buy this add-on on top of the stairgate price, and it's just a few pieces of plastic for £10 - I would have expected a little more space options. The spacer JUST worked, but there still wasn't quite enough space for my skirting and my stairgate hangs on a slight diagonal. Was touch and go if this was gonna work, so feels a bit like a botch job.
