Plug and Play

Got this for my trailer controller. I used it on a 2006 crew cab Tundra 4wd. This plugged right into the trucks system already and then into the controller. Easy as that, no modification or thinking required. I recommend.

Worked great but I wish it was 4 inches longer.

I forgot to take photos. Very easy to install in my 2006 Tundra. Made it easier to route by pulling the lower dash panel, just 4 bolts. 2006 Tundra and forward have the option for a brake controller built into the wire harness. It's under the driver side kick panel. Needed to remove the door sill plastic plate to get the kick panel off. Another 4 inches would have been handy. I tucked the Curt harness up a little further than most people might so might not be a problem for others.

Order the 51363 part

I double checked Curt’s website for the correct part number for my 2011 Toyota Tundra. Both the 51362 and the 51363 part numbers fit. They are the same piece but the 51362 is cheaper because it appears to be a bulk order for the seller. 51363 is a single piece order and comes in an individual case. When I ordered the 51362 the part number matched on the outside bag but the part number on the actual cord did not match and it didn’t fit my truck. So I returned the 51362 and ordered the 51363 and I had no issues with the 51363. Spend the extra couple of dollars and get the 51363 to ensure you receive the correct part for your vehicle.

Don’t hesitate to buy this.

Used this to add a trailer brake controller to my 2019 4Runner Limited 4x4. Easiest install I’ve had in 40 years. Plug and play, no splicing. I never knew there was a factory plug below the dash to add trailer brakes.

Fit perfectly in my Lexus.

This fit perfectly into the factory brake controller harness in my 2004 Lexus GX. I hooked it up to one of the more basic controller units from Curt and mounted it all up under the dash. I was able to stash the excess length of the harness up under the panel under the steering column with no issues. It's nice that these companies make these things so it's just a plug and play install without having to mess around with a bunch of wiring.

2003 Toyota Tundra brake controller harness
