This arrived fairly quickly. However, once I opened the box and carefully removed the product I realized instantly there was something wrong. The pole that the horse is on was off center, and would not balance. It was a gift for my husband's sister, and it took me hours to at least somewhat attempt to fix the problem. The only solution I could come up with was using a ton of elmers, superglue, and clear rubber bands to make it stable enough that it can still be used even if it is completely stationary. So if you prefer just hearing the music- that part works perfectly, it is clear, and is in tune, or if you just want it to look at (and can get it to stand up straight) it is lovely and the paint is well done. However, if you are planning on purchasing it for it to work as intended, don't count on it.

Cheaply made, but pretty.

The horse is cheaply made. The first one that I received was broken, and the second one I received wasn't broken, but is certainly not sturdy. Luckily this is for a collection and not for regular use. If you're looking for a horse you can wind up time and time again - this is not the one for you. Carousel horses are always expensive, but I don't believe that we got our money's worth with this one.

Beautiful BUT, it's broke

DISAPPOINTED! The horse is absolutely beautiful! BUT, I wish like others I had read the reviews first. When removing the horse from the packaging the horses pole was coming off (had to screw that back on). When I started to wind the crank to listen to the music the whole assembly fell out, and it also looks like the frame it was glued to is not the right size. I am going to try and fix it just because it is so very pretty, and since my great-nieces birthday isn't until December, I've got time.

I don't want to get one that's in even worse shape than the one I received

The music box and rotational feature is about 80% functional. I wish I had read the other reviews before I purchased this item. I would not have bought it if I had known. I am afraid to return it for a replacement because, after reading the reviews, I don't want to get one that's in even worse shape than the one I received. I would not purchase this if I were you because there's a 50/50 chance that you're going to receive a piece of junk.

defective will not stand up, was very disapointed since it was a gift

It was broken. The horse would not stand up. super glued it to the base. I was very disappointed since it was to be a Christmas gift. Did not feel like messing with a refund, so I super glued the horse up right and will be keeping it for my self. The item is pretty. If you want to take a chance on receiving a broken horse, the review before mine also received a damage item.
