A little large, but extremely comfortable

My chest measures around 42”, and for most sweaters I’m on the cusp between medium and large (depending on the brand and style). I ordered this in a large as I’d prefer to have too much room than too little, but now I’ve tried it on I think I could have gotten away with a medium. This is a pretty roomy pullover, and while the extra material is welcome on a cold day it’s a little shapeless when it’s too big, so bear that in mind. What I really like here are the elasticated wrists to keep in the heat, the zipped chest pocket with a protective flap over it - perfect for keeping your valuables dry in wet weather - and the drawstring hem. I usually stick to natural fibres for my outdoor clothing, but since I like and trust Columbia I decided to give them a chance with 100% polyester. I hate the idea of it, but I can’t deny that it makes for a warm and comfortable pullover. It’s pretty thick and kinda bobbled, not the usual almost velvety texture of fleece, and it traps the heat in really well. I don’t think it looks great on me - especially slightly oversized and shapeless - but I’m sure it’ll come in handy when I’m out in the cold. One minor gripe: I’d prefer the waist pockets to have zippers. Not a huge problem, but if I’m wearing this it’s likely I’m doing something active that doesn’t fit well with open pockets.

Pleasantly surprised...

My initial impression upon delivery was that it was quite a decent weight and fairly bulky. That promised well as I bought it primarily for the extra warmth that I hoped the high pile fabric would offer. The material itself does not have the stretch of regular fleece fabrics, so getting it over my shoulders was a little difficult for me. Most of that is due to having had both shoulder joints replaced because of arthritis, so don't put too much emphasis on that but it is definitely harder to put on than normal fleece. The fit is as expected; sometimes a European XXL can be snug for me, but this is fine and I am glad that I did not opt for a larger size. There is one pouch pocket at the front and it is accessed through a zippered closure on both sides of the garment. The pocket is very roomy. The quarter-zip could be a bit longer; if it were then getting in and out of it would be easier, as well as having better ventilation in such a warm piece of clothing. The material seems pretty windproof and the item is significantly warmer than regular fleece. The overall feel is that of a bulky garment, but that is to be expected with the high pile nature of the fleece. I am pretty impressed with this fleece and as long as it washes well, then I would recommend it to others.

Crazy Columbia

I am a S.Korean. I wear size small. But this pullover is ridiculously large. I tried to return this dress but it's annoying, so I'm going to give it to someone else. The actual size of this pullover is the large size. When I measured the size, one side size was 59cm. So the chest will be 118 cm, that is 46.5 inches. Isn't this crazy?

Great Fit, Heavy Fleece

This fleece in Large fits my 6’, 150LB, slim/fit, long-arm/torso husband roomy (he likes the loose fit) – Columbia clothing seems to run just a bit large. It’s well made & a good heavy weight fleece. The zipper moves smooth & it has a very small chest pocket (phone will not fit). The kangaroo hand pocket is one big pouch in front. This is well made & will be warm this fall & winter. We wash in the machine & hang dry.

High quality fleece, soft and light pullover...

Pullovers are dime-a-dozen. To be noteworthy a pullover has to do something better than most. And this one does. The great thing about this pullover is the fabric, the fleece itself which is soft, thick and luxurious. It has thick exterior pile and a wonderfully soft interior. There's also a chest pocket, with a zippered opening under a flap. Two lower side pockets are zipper-less, but lined. A nice pullover for outdoor wear, or for warmth indoors in winter. Works well either way, and looks nice as indoor wear.

Columbia quality! Runs large

This pullover runs large. But the fleece material is soft, comfortable and very warm. My husband works construction and wears multiple layers when working outdoors so this works well being a bit oversized. It is Columbia brand which is know for its quality products. This does not disappoint! Hopefully you found this review helpful.
