Solar post mount light
Good product for the price. Casts a very nice amount of soft downward light for visibility walking down wooden stairs from a deck. Only complaint and preference would have been if they would have designed the battery compartment in a way so it’s accessible without having to completely unscrew the fixture to get to the batteries between the back of the fixture and the post or wall or whatever you mount it to. I also bought a different solar light fixture that screws to the “top” of a 4x4 wooden post. I admire the design of this fixture to access the batteries….the top twists off while the fixture itself is still screwed to the post top.

So far, so good.
So far, so good. We ordered 2 and installed them about a week ago to try them out prior to ordering more, since they were so expensive from the 2+ Amazon sellers. These are handsome little solar light wedges, with a nice copper/black electrocuting patina over aluminum and plastic. Nice to look at but also unobtrusive, if you know what I mean. They install easily in minutes, right out of the box. The 2-led light stream, to be expected, is downward and covers about a 3 to 4 foot diameter; good enough to light up a step or create a small accent area. They are attached to the railing along our deck, where one would step up to another level. We have a nice tree canopy of t-a-l-l old growth oaks, but the entire deck still receives strong all-day light to recharge 'em. We've been getting nearly 11 hours of consistent nightly light from these. In short, right now, we really like them. They replace an outdated set of what were surprisingly attractive and functioning small, round metal Malibu lights the prior owner of our home had installed along the deck railing every 6 feet or so. (It's a nice, big, 3-tiered deck.) But it was time for those to go away. It would not have been all that difficult or expensive to run electrical lighting to the nearby existing outlet, but we wanted to try these, for efficiency and long term cost, rather than sucking up electrical power all night. Time will tell. Because we did like the 2 initially bought, we noodled around and found them for $10 cheaper/($20 each, with free shipping) from a major national office supply company. I didn't give it 5 stars, because the on/off switch is in back and requires unscrewing and removing the light. It's the same procedure x2 for eventually replacing the rechargeable battery, as the user then has to remove the light from the surfaced it is screwed into and then also remove 3 screws in the plastic back to get to the battery compartment. It doesn't seem to make it any more weathertight. BACKSTORY: We like solar products, want them to be more reliable than most are, and have tried just about every brand of outdoor solar light there is, both path and post, along with just about every brand of solar rechargeable battery that goes with. As most reviewers of solar lights will note, this is a fluid industry, to sat the least; there are more disappointing, useless products than good and solid ones that deliver on what manufacturers ALWAYS promise. This means that by 2014, most consumers have already set the bar fairly low for home solar products, both in quality and longevity. That they all are from China and overpriced adds to the pain, when a purchased item breaks right off the bat or fails the baseline test for minimum hours of nighttime lighting. We'll report back in 6 months, at the end of 2014, to note how long they've lasted, if the finish holds up to weather, and how many hours of light they emit, once daylight becomes less intense and shorter, as the seasons change.

Watch Out
The lights look great. However, out of the three I ordered only one worked. Just be prepared for exchanges. They give off just enough light.

It's a great little light to be mounted on a post
It's a great little light. We're using ours to help light a dim walkway leading up to the house. It's just bright enough!

Bright when they work..
They were decently bright for a solar light, however did not last very long. Maybe about 10-2 minutes after full day of sun. I gave it a couple days to cycle the batteries, no change.

Dodgy
Like most solar lighting, some work and some do not

Look nice
They do not stay light all night not even when in full sun. But they are made well and look nice enough

Over Priced!
I was surprised how small it is. And the bronze is bronze-ish plastic? I wanted it for a light to show my address on the front porch. I have a small overhang facing south to the sun, but because of the angled solar panel on the top of it gets very little direct sun light so the AA battery doesn't charge. The biggest problem I have with it is it's so overpriced for plastic. I found a simaliar light, same bronze color and you get two for $16.95.

Nice Lights
I purchased quite a few of these lights about three years ago to put on my backyard fence. I needed another one recently to put on another back post. I ordered here, but this one did not work properly so going back. But, I will say that these are nice low lights and all others have worked fine. I will buy again. One out of 20 isn't bad.

DIM - useless
I bought 4 of these to attach to the trellis over the back porch. They get direct sunlight and point down to the step. We have had a few partial sun days and a beautiful clear all sunny day. I waited until this last day to form my opinion. These lights are useless. I have solar lights attached to my fence that I bought from RONA and Lowes: they are bright and white and last a long time. I opted to buy online to finish the project - bad mistake. These 4 barely light up at all and when they do the duration is minimal only an hour or so. They certainly don't light up my deck and are useless as they barely give out any light. The colour blends well which is a positive but as a light totally ineffective.

Excellent product
Fine quality, durable light, good value.

Unpredictable, you never know when the light will actually work.
I have lower quality solar lights that always managed to get enough power on even cloudy days. These lights do not do that. They look great when they actually work, but they only have enough battery for maybe 2-3 hours of light at night (on an incredibly sunny day). These lights do nothing more than look fancy during the day. Much too expensive for this kind of junk.
